Praba disappointed by ‘selfish’ Tian Chua
P Prabakaran won the Batu parliamentary seat as an independent in GE14 before joining PKR.
kt comments: Only because PKR's candidate Tian Chua was disqualified for a legality (subsequently ruled as incorrect) and Praba was then "adopted" by PKR to deny BN the seat
KUALA LUMPUR: Former Batu MP P Prabakaran is disappointed with his predecessor Tian Chua for contesting the parliamentary seat as an independent candidate.
After arriving at the Batu nomination centre at 8.44am, the Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate accused Tian Chua of being selfish.
Tian Chua arrived at the nomination centre at SMK Sentul Utama earlier this morning.
The former PKR vice-president was the Batu MP from 2008 to 2018 but failed to defend his seat in the last general election (GE14) after being disqualified on nomination day.
PKR named Prabakaran to defend the seat he won as an independent in GE14 before joining the party.
With Tian Chua throwing his hat into the ring, the Batu seat is expected to see a crowded field, with big names like MIC vice-president A Kohilan Pillay and Gerak Independent’s Siti Kasim in contention.
There will also be nominees from Perikatan Nasional (PN), Warisan, Pejuang, Parti Rakyat Malaysia (PRM), and independent candidates in the running.
Prabakaran has, since 2018, worked hard as an MP, and has been loyal to PKR.
ReplyDeleteHe has earned the right to be reappointed to contest the seat.
Tian Chua , on the other hand , is still in the "dubious loyalty" category. PKR is right not to take the risk with Tian Chua.
Let's see if Anwar will keep to his word that anyone from PKR who stands as an independent will be sacked.
