Former wife of Perlis MB wants a lot of money from him
Sova and her ex-husband.
SHAH ALAM — Nov. 4, 2022: The former wife of Perlis Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man has filed mutaah (consolatory gift) and alimony claims totalling RM15.34 million at the syariah high court here.
Sova Ali, an Indonesian, is demanding RM15 million in mutaah after she was divorced without reasonable grounds. Her argument is that neither did he obtain the court’s permission.
She further wants RM344,250 in alimony, claiming that she did not receive financial support from him throughout their marriage from March 2010.
Sova will file a claim for marital assets for properties acquired in Selangor, Perlis and overseas during the marriage and to demand nafkah iddah (maintenance payments).
The cases for the claims will be heard here on December 15.
Syarie lawyer Datuk Zainul Rijal Abu Bakar for Sova said the court registrar has allowed them to serve the summons and statement of claim in Perlis.
On August 25, syarie judge Abdullah Zuhdee Ab. Halim confirmed the dissolution of the marriage at the Hulu Langat lower syariah court.
He did it under the Selangor Islamic Family Law after he was satisfied with testimonies from both parties on the pronouncement of the talaq by Azlan in Jakarta.
Apparently she's quite a beauty, and many years younger than him....
