Israeli soldiers yesterday shot and killed a Palestinian lawyer and two teenagers in the occupied West Bank.

The latest bloodshed bring to 18 the number of Palestinian fatalities in the ongoing escalation of tension, which coincide with the Muslims’ holy month of Ramadan.

Israel has poured in additional forces in the occupied territory after deadly attacks that claimed 14 lives in the Jewish state in the past three weeks.

Palestinian authorities said lawyer Muhammad Hassan Muhammad Assaf, 34, was shot dead by Israeli soldiers in Nablus, while Qusai Hamamrah, 16 and Amer Elyan, 18 were similarly killed in Husan and Silwad respectively.

The Israeli army confirmed in a statement that its soldiers had shot Palestinians using live ammunitions in order to stop immediate threat during riots in the occupied territory.

Palestinian prime minister Mohammad Shtayyeh condemned Israeli soldiers for committing “murder for the sake of murder, with a license granted by the prime minister of the occupying state, Naftali Bennett, without the slightest regard for international law”.

  1. I did not see a response from your blog per the masaacre at Dizengoff Street a week ago. I was in Isreal many years ago. And stayed in that area. Two dead , and multiple wounded. The Israelis are on heightened alert. And no one knows when these escalations will end. Everyone is now trigger happy. I suppose this plays into the palestinian narrative..
