UK wants to give Ukraine anti-ship missiles - report
The UK government wants to supply Ukraine with anti-ship missiles to sink Russian warships, and ease the pressure on coastal cites they are bombarding from the sea, the Sunday Times is reporting.

The newspaper described the plan as part of a "gear change" in the West's response to the war.
It quoted UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson as telling ministers that he wanted to supply the weapons to prevent Russian forces from advancing on the southern port city of Odesa.

ReplyDeleteBritain for decades has not built up any coastal anti-ship defences, relying more on its strike aircraft or submarines to destroy any threatening warships approaching UK shores.
The Brits do have American-built Harpoons, but those are Ship-based.
The French do manufacture truck-mounted Exocet systems, but in-line with Gallic perfidy, even to this day , France has refused to supply Ukraine with lethal aid, because Macron needs to continue talking to Putin, even though he has produced Zero results.
The Americans manufacture truck-based Harpoon systems, but those are mainly export purposes, and the current supply is earmarked for Taiwan, to defend against the threat they face from a Sea-borne invasion by China.
The Yanks have contracted to supply 400 Harpoon missiles to Taiwan....this would be the naval function equivalent of Ukraine's Javelins.

The Yankee just keep talking big while refusing to raise a single hand - preferably to let his underlings doing his settings. Half term election is near.
