“PAS has a lot of enemies?”: Netizens left in stitches over Hadi’s gaslighting
“PAS has a lot of enemies?”: Netizens left in stitches over Hadi’s gaslighting
EARLIER today, PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang claimed that the party has a lot of enemies in Malaysia due to their perseverance in upholding Islam and the party’s principles.
Speaking during the opening of the Kompleks PAS Kedah ceremony, he also said that PAS’ victory in securing Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu was only the first step in many more success to come.
“That’s why we have more enemies. As for other parties, when their leaders die, the party also dies. When the leader is weak, the party becomes weak as well,” Astro Awani reported him as saying.
However, netizens were bemused by Hadi’s rhetoric and took pot shots at his chest-thumping act of glorifying the Islamist party.
(PAS also loses civil suits over slander quite frequently right?)
Echoing his sentiments, user Ibnu M Ghazali added:
(How not to have so many enemies when you keep betraying your allies. Barisan Alternatif, Pakatan Rakyat and Muafakat Nasional. Everything collapsed due to PAS).
Netizen Jas Mike replied:
(The problem with PAS is not their enemies but due to its own leaders who like to confuse the people with slander and drama. They also like to stir up racial polemics to break apart Malaysians. It is best for PAS to just get dissolved for the sake of the people and country)
While UMNO has been coy on criticising PAS earlier, the gloves were off during the Johor state election when both parties went for each other’s throats in the open.
In the ongoing UMNO annual general assembly, several of its delegates have openly condemned the party for its ties with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia and “waved goodbye” to their pact.
Yesterday, The Malay Mail Online reported the High Court of ordering Perak PAS chief Razman Zakaria to pay RM250,000 in damages to DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, and to issue a public apology over a Facebook posting targeted at Lim, over a headscarf ban fiasco involving hotel staff.
Hadi is a failed leader
On Jan 22, 2018, national news agency Bernama reported that the Bagan MP Lim had initiated legal action against the Perak state executive councillor for uploading a fake image on the latter’s social media alongside a statement that was defamatory, false and malicious against Lim on Nov 18, 2017.
Razman had at that time reported to have stated that Lim appeared to be supporting the ban on the donning of headscarves, which he allegedly defended as being the right of hotel operators, and that Penang fully backed the move.
On that note, user James Baung said that Hadi can only blame himself for the malaise that has befallen PAS due to his greed for power.
(His religious attire is merely shielding Hadi from his failure to manage his party. He only cares about position, not of disunity among Muslims)
Netizen Mohd Syukri posted a cheeky reply; stating:
(Dear leader, please pay up the RM250,000 owed to Guan Eng due to the defamation suit. Isn’t DAP your enemy? But you guys keep ‘donating’ funds to DAP. So nice of PAS to do that for DAP) – March 19, 2022
