KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 10 —The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning, with heavy rain and strong winds expected in Perlis, Kuala Lumpur and 12 other states until 6 pm today.
MetMalaysia, in a statement, said that the adverse weather was expected to affect several areas in Kedah, namely Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap, Sik and Baling, as well as Timur Laut and Barat Daya in Penang.
In Perak, the affected areas are Larut Matang, Kerian, Selama, Manjung, Bagan Datuk, Perak Tengah, Hilir Perak and Hulu Perak, while in Kelantan, the warning covers Kuala Krai and Jeli, as well as the whole of Terengganu.
The same warning has also been issued for Rompin and Jerantut in Pahang, and Sabak Bernam, Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Kuala Selangor, Klang, Petaling and Hulu Langat in Selangor.
In addition, adverse weather is expected across Negeri Sembilan and Melaka, as well as Kulai and Johor Bahru in Johor.
In Sarawak, the warning covers Lubok Antu in Sri Aman Division. In Sabah, the affected areas are Tawau, Semporna, Kunak and Lahad Datu; Sandakan (Kinabatangan, Sandakan, Telupid, Labuk, Sugut, and Paitan); West Coast (Kota Belud and Ranau) and Kudat (Kota Marudu). — Bernama
