Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim sidestepped a question about whether a snap general election will be called to coincide with the Johor polls, saying his priority is work.

“I’m focusing on my job. The problem is that some of these people don’t think of this. We should focus on the job.

“That’s their (Johor’s) decision (to hold snap polls). We have our priorities, we have to focus on our work,” he was quoted as saying by Bernama.

Two weeks ago, during the Pakatan Harapan convention, Anwar - who is the coalition chief - said he would meet with party leaders to discuss the possibility of a snap general election.

However, he said he would reserve the final decision.

He also said that Harapan will retaliate if BN decides to clash with the coalition.

Meanwhile, DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke had said that if Johor holds snap polls, Negeri Sembilan will follow suit.

However, as of writing, there has been no announcement on the dissolution of the Negeri Sembilan legislature.
