KUALA LUMPUR – The Court of Appeal today allowed Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to postpone civil proceedings in a suit filed against him by former research officer Muhammed Yusoff Rawther in 2021.
The three-member panel led by Datuk Che Mohd Ruzima Ghazali said in delivering the decision that the matter involved exceptional circumstances.
“We find that the adjournment of proceedings should be granted due to exceptional circumstances, particularly because without the postponement, the appeal would be rendered meaningless.
“We also find that no party will suffer any prejudice,” he said.
The other panel members were Justices Datuk Wong Kian Kheong and Datuk Lim Hock Leng. – July 21, 2025
