Israeli attacks kill at least 21 across Gaza since dawn
- At least 21 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip today, with air attacks killing six in Beit Hanoon most recently.
- New video evidence has emerged showing Israeli forces firing on clearly identifiable ambulances in an attack that killed 15 medics and humanitarian workers in Gaza.
- At least 100 Palestinian children have been killed or injured each day in Gaza since Israel broke the ceasefire on March 18, the head of UNRWA said.
- Gaza’s Health Ministry says at least 50,669 Palestinians are confirmed dead and 115,225 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza. The Government Media Office updated its death toll to more than 61,700, saying thousands of people missing under the rubble are presumed dead.
More from ‘lone survivor’ medic who witnessed Israeli attack
It was only after daybreak that the Red Crescent’s Munther Abed – who remained held by Israeli troops – was able to get a better idea of what happened to his colleagues.
“With the first light of day things become clearer. I saw the vehicles of the civil emergency and the Red Crescent. The doors of all the vehicles were open and there was blood on the vehicles,” he said.
A bulldozer had dug four holes in the sand before crushing the wrecked vehicles and burying them. “At that time I had no clue about the fate of my colleagues,” he said.
Abed said he was held in detention by Israeli forces for about 15 hours during which he was interrogated and beaten. He said he saw the aid worker who is still missing, detained by Israeli soldiers.
“They asked me where I had been on October 7, they were saying Palestinians are terrorists, and that we are all terrorists.”
Eventually, he said, the soldiers made some checks on him before deciding to release him.

‘Impunity in any place breeds impunity in every place’: IFRC
Tommaso Della Longa, spokesman for International Federation of Red Cross & Red Crescent Societies, says as shocking and distressing as the video of the medic killings is it only shows “what we already knew”.
“Clearly marked ambulances with the lights on came clearly under attack, and of course this is totally unacceptable,” Della Longa told Al Jazeera.
“We keep repeating the message for 18 months now. It’s not only a moral obligation, it’s a legal obligation for everyone to respect and protect, in any circumstances, civilians and humanitarian workers. Sadly, this has not happened.”
He noted during Israel’s war 30 Palestine Red Crescent Society workers have been killed in Gaza, but also in the occupied West Bank.
“In Gaza, independent investigators must be allowed full access on what happened two Sundays ago. Impunity in any place breeds impunity in every place all around the world.”
