Two people have been found dead in Selangor, as flood waters from heavy rains displace over 900 people in the state to temporary evacuation centres.
Both deaths were believed to have been caused by electrocution.
“Members of the public are reminded to be cautious with the use of electrical and electronic devices during flood season to avoid the risk of electrical shock,” urged Shah Alam district police chief Iqbal Ibrahim.
The first body was found this morning at a store for construction goods, which the deceased also lived at, in Taman Alam Indah, Seksyen 25, Shah Alam.
The 27-year-old migrant was found floating face down alongside the remains of a dog, Iqbal said.
The second death involved a 24-year-old delivery rider, whose remains were found at his home at Kampung Padang Jawa, Klang, in the evening.
Iqbal said preliminary investigations found that the deceased was electrocuted as he using his phone, which was being charged as flood waters rose.

The flooding has affected 281 families - or 930 people - in Selangor, read the report, citing data from the Civil Defence Force (CDF) Disaster Management Committee Secretariat.
The report noted that the number of victims in the Petaling district is rising, but the number in Klang remains unchanged.
Flooding in Batu Pahat, Johor, has displaced another 203 people, who have been placed in one temporary shelter.
However, this number is decreasing.
In Nabawan, Sabah, 263 people and rising were affected by the floods, prompting the opening of one shelter.

A separate report from New Straits Times quoted Selangor Disaster Management Committee chairperson Najwan Halimi saying the three temporary shelter centres in Petaling are located in Kenanga Hall in Section 28, Shah Alam, Sekolah Kebangsaan Shah Alam in Seksyen 16, and Camelia Hall in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya.
He added that three centres were opened in Klang: Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Binjai, Azalea Hall in Taman Seri Muda, and Bunga Bakawali Hall in Section 35.

“The evacuation, registration, and headcount processes are ongoing at all temporary shelter centres. Victim information will be updated from time to time.
“Our priority is to relocate the victims first. Once the rain subsides and the floods recede, we will coordinate volunteers to assist with the cleaning work.
“There may also be financial assistance (from the state government), but this will only be channelled to those officially registered at the temporary shelter. If they enter the shelter, we will handle the distribution of financial aid for the victims,” Najwan told reporters on a visit to Kampung Padang Jawa, which was affected by the floods.
Heavy rain reportedly occurred since 2am, causing flash floods to occur in Petaling, Klang, Sepang, Hulu Langat, and Gombak.
