WASHINGTON, March 14 — The US House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved a bill yesterday that would force TikTok to divest from its Chinese owner or be banned from the United States.

The legislation is a major setback for the video-sharing app, which has surged in popularity across the world while causing nervousness about its Chinese ownership and its potential subservience to the Communist Party in Beijing.

The lawmakers voted 352 in favour of the proposed law and 65 against, in a rare moment of unity in politically divided Washington.

The warning shot against the app caught many by surprise as both Republicans and Democrats risked the wrath of TikTok’s passionate young users in an election year when the youth vote will be key.

“Today’s bipartisan vote demonstrates Congress’ opposition to Communist China’s attempts to spy on and manipulate Americans, and signals our resolve to deter our enemies,” Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson said after the vote.

“I urge the Senate to pass this bill and send it to the President so he can sign it into law.”

But the fate of the bill is uncertain in the more cautious Senate, where some are apprehensive of making a drastic move against an app that has 170 million US users.

President Joe Biden will sign the bill, known officially as the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, into law if it came to his desk, the White House has said.

“This process was secret and the bill was jammed through for one reason: it’s a ban,” said a spokesperson for TikTok in a statement.

“We are hopeful that the Senate will consider the facts, listen to their constituents, and realize the impact on the economy, 7 million small businesses, and the 170 million Americans who use our service,” the spokesperson added.

Thanks to the info provided by one of my blog visitors, MF, there is apparently a REAL reason behind the Biden's pursuit for seizure of TikTok, and it has fkc-all to do with the fear of China obtaining data from/or Americans.

Yes, it's still Biden's fear but of another kind, that of the younger American voters being informed of Biden's blind, idiotic and ultra-cruel support of Israeli persecution, oppression and yes, genocide of Palestinians in the latter's very own Palestinian land.

The Administration's aim is to seize TikTok before the Presidential Elections so as to (presumably) curtail such dissemination of the real and very unpleasant news of what their president has been doing, and what the barbarous Israeli government has been pursuing, the genocide-total elimination of Palestinians from the Arab's homeland, an act of ethnic cleansing for the Israeli 'Lebenstraum'. 

Until TikTok, their younger voters have been fed 'kerbau' by the Zionist and pro-Zionist-controlled media.

Consider the timeline:

The Biden regime just deployed every asset to stop Trump from being on the ballot, and they failed. Trump is projected to win.

Now swamp rats want to pass a bill that would give Biden the power to control the flow of information on social media.

The Deep State are in desperation mode. They are looking for any angle to alter the calculus before November. The only way they can get away with stealing the election, is if they cut out our tongues like they did last time. They have to regain their monopoly of the narrative and public perception.

They are coming for X. Make no mistake. You think they really care about China getting our data? They let China fly surveillance balloons over us without consequence.
