Focus Malaysia:
RPK predicts minimum two-term premiership for PMX who has the edge in the epic Anwarism vs Mahathirism battle
AMID the current state of fluid political development in the country, fugitive blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin (RPK) has deemed Prime Minister (PMX) Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who is “seemingly unshakable” and “growing in strength by the day” to emerge victorious in the ultimate Anwarism vs Mahathirism battle.
Ruling out the likelihood of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (YDPA) who has less than a week of his five-year term left being the saviour “for he’s merely a constitutional monarch”, the mercenary blogger further brushed aside prospect of Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar who will ascend the throne come Jan 31 to be interested in gutter politics.
“What this means is that till GE16 (the 16th General Election), any effort to topple Anwar will likely be futile for he is in a formidable position to get rid of all his major political enemies once and for all thus paving the way for him to administer the country for no less than 10 years at least,” predicted the opposition-slant RPK in his latest video clip.
“He (Anwar) could be on course to be the second longest serving PM after the now incarcerated Datuk Seri Najib Razak (nine years) and Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi (six years).”
With Anwar leveraging the long arm of the law to eliminate each and every VVIPs in his long list starting with twice former premier and his once mentor Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and former finance minister Tun Daim Zainuddin, RPK contended that this “will send shivers down the spine of existing enemies thus prompting them to surrender and pledge their allegiance to Anwar”.
“Although this isn’t a true reflection of how strong Anwar is but rather how weak the opposition is, everything boils down to survival instinct which is part of the human nature … when you know you can no longer win the battle, you’ll surrender and join the winning side … this will be the scenario till GE16 (in 2027).”

Earlier, RPK painted how Anwar was going all out to rid his two biggest enemies in Dr Mahathir and Daim, the latter with his wife Toh Puan Na’imah Khalid charged for not declaring her assets truthfully “while MACC (the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) is toying with the idea of charging Daim in hospital in the fashion of if Muhammad cannot come to the mountain, the mountain will go to Muhammad”.
“Similarly, there’s bright prospect of the entire Dr Mahathir family not spared the rod as all his four children including daughter and eldest child Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir will be charged (in court) given their involvement in various business dealings,” contended the self-exiled blogger from his Manchester, UK residence since 2009.
“With the fall of both the Mahathir and Daim dynasties, Anwar will be very strong and almost invincible to the extent that he’s either dancing with death or he’s eliminating all his dangerous enemies and in the process, remains strong or become even stronger to hold office for two or more terms unless his health doesn’t permit him to do so.”
Interestingly, RPK went on to speculate that given the current circumstances, the duo’s three main business cronies in Tan Sri Vincent Tan Chee Yioun, Tan Sri Francis Yeoh Sock Ping and Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Albukhary “are likely to abandon or distance themselves from Dr Mahathir and Daim”.
“They are likely to cross over to become Anwar’s cronies … after all, Anwar, Dr Mahathir and Daim used to share those same cronies in the late 1980s and early 1990s,” recalled RPK.
“Businessmen won’t swim against the current for it’s too stupid and dangerous to do so … smart businessmen will follow the tide and will likely switch side from Dr Mahathir and Daim who can be likened to sinking ships … they know that political loyalty is stupid for their ultimate aim is to make more money.” – Jan 25, 2024
