It’s been a week since K-pop girl group BLACKPINK held their highly-anticipated concert at the Bukit Jalil stadium, but yet it still remains a topic of controversy.

This comes after a lengthy post was uploaded on Facebook by Kepala Batas MP Dr Mastura Muhammad, who called the concert “a bigger threat” than religious activities in Malaysia.

PAS MP: BLACKPINK concert a bigger threat

In the Facebook post by Dr Mastura, she said that religious ‘ceramahs’ were recently cancelled in Selangor, where the reason was reportedly the authorities not giving it a permit and strict regulations which were in place.

She then accused the government of double standards by allowing events such as the BLACKPINK concert to be held despite its ‘deviant’ nature.

“The recent BLACKPINK concert, attended by more than 60,000 people, has become a phenomenon for young people, with a government minister even posting on social media, ‘Come back again to Malaysia soon’.

Entertainment programs like this are seen as a bigger threat to the country. It must be made illegal as it violates our religious and ethical values,” she wrote.

Dr Mastura also argued that the concert had violated several regulations set by the Central Agency for Application for Filming and Performance by Foreign Artistes (Puspal), such as not wearing revealing clothing or engage in actions that disrespect local sensitivities.

“The question is, has BLACKPINK violated these guidelines? How about their clothing and dance movements? What action will be taken? Only time will tell,” she said.

Towards the end of the post, she said that Islamic programs in the country must be further extended and empowered in the future.

The BLACKPINK concert has been the subject of protest and outrage from several parties, including local preacher PU Syed who prayed for the stadium to be flooded and PAS MP Nurul Amin Hamid, who claimed that it had caused uneasiness among Muslims.

  1. PAS idiots have no imagination. Is this Mastura a medical doctor? Where did she get her degree?

They have blinkers on and can only talk religion and that too very stupidly.

It would require infinite patience and a lot of hand wringing to discuss issues like ideas to get rid of the crutch that the ketuanans are addicted to now.

Sometimes it might be a better idea to just speak to monkeys!
