PH must win GE15 to save the nation, says Saifuddin
Saifuddin Nasution said PKR’s goal is to win the next general election and lead the next government to save the people and the country.
SHAH ALAM: PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail says allowing the current government to remain in power for another term would be catastrophic and bring further damage to the country.
In a speech at the PKR congress this morning, Saifuddin said Pakatan Harapan (PH), therefore, has a responsibility to take over the government to ensure no more damage would be done to the country.
“This congress is being held at a time when the country is still facing uncertainties, especially in politics and the economy. People are burdened with the rising cost of living and high inflation.
“Our goal is to win the next general election (GE15) and lead the next government to save the people and the country. It is our duty to ensure that we will be victorious in GE15,” he said.
Saifuddin said this congress was the party’s last before GE15, and the new leadership will take over once the meeting ends.
Yesterday, Saifuddin said party president Anwar Ibrahim is still the best man to lead PH into GE15.
He also defended Anwar over criticisms from within the party that he is a “burden” and “liability”.
