BEST political statement for 2020 (2)

From Malaysiakini's Commander (rtd) S Thayaparan in his column article: There's no moral dilemma of Umno and DAP working together.

I deem Commander (rtd) S Thayaparan's statement below as the BEST political statement for 2020 thus far, wakakaka:

"One of the big commonalities between the DAP and Umno is both have been burned by former prime minister Mahathir. The old maverick left Umno because Umno refused to bend the knee. He then left Harapan because their knees broke after prolonged inertia in a supine position."

No snap polls, just suspend Parliament for stability, says MIC chief
    FMT Reporters -October 14, 2020

KUALA LUMPUR: MIC president SA Vigneswaran today suggested that Parliament be prorogued to enable the government to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

It would also help the government revive the economy and bring about political stability, he said in a statement.

He noted that Article 55(2) of the Federal Constitution stated that, “The Yang di-Pertuan Agong may prorogue or dissolve Parliament.”

Vigneswaran said the prorogation of Parliament was the “country’s safest bet towards maintaining public order, the life of the economy and political stability”.

    1. Vignes' repeats his selfish logic: We should suspend parliament as long as I am in power.

Why didn't he make this suggestion (ie suspend Parliament) during the power-grabbing Sheraton Shake 8 months ago? Because he was in opposition then?

He cites the pandemic as a reason for suspension, in order to allow the current government to do its job. Well, didn't the current government grab power when the pandemic was already started? Why didn't he allow the PH government to do its job? Is the current government doing a good job? Are we not in the midst of a Third Wave?

MIC chief defends call to suspend Parliament
      FMT Reporters -October 15, 2020

KUALA LUMPUR: MIC president SA Vigneswaran today defended his call for the prorogation of Parliament, saying a novel threat requires a novel solution.

He said his detractors had failed to understand that the position and powers of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong were different from that of the Queen of England.

Vigneswaran was responding to the views of former Federal Court Judge Gopal Sri Ram and lawyer Bastian Pius Vendargon following his suggestion last night that Parliament be prorogued to allow the current government to stay in power so that it could fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

Vigneswaran had also said suspending Parliament would ensure political stability, after PKR president Anwar Ibrahim’s challenge to the post of prime minister.

“The legitimacy of Covid-19 as a reason to suspend Parliament should not be looked at from a narrow perspective. One needs to understand that if Parliament were to continue in order to decide who becomes the next PM, the inevitable next step would lead to a general election.

“We have learned from the events of the Sabah election, that the outcome in terms of the health and safety of the rakyat would be catastrophic.”

  3. Capt Thaya-Pandai and his circular logic strikes again and he confuses himself.

Kit Siang: How to work with Najib who won't admit 1MDB wrongdoings?

DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang has hit out at a report on a website claiming he would cooperate with former premier Najib Abdul Razak, saying that it is a misrepresentation of a statement he made four years ago.

The report titled “DAP Lim Kit Siang: ‘To save Malaysia, I am prepared to work with Najib to restore democracy and implement key reforms’" was uploaded on the Coverage today, which the Iskandar Puteri MP says has made the rounds on social media...

  4. KT's Tag-Team-Buddy RPK has a different take than Capt Thaya-Pandai on knees and lututs...he says Toonsie had to bend his knee to DAP until sakit lutut....ha ha ha....

    RPK's QUOTE
Dr Mahathir left Umno because Umno refuse to lutut to him. He then left Pakatan Harapan because he had to lutut to DAP sampai sakit lutut. Now Anwar wants the Malays to lutut to DAP. Gila ke?
