I think we may have gained a little insight into the reason for the extended shutdown.
Although at the national level the Dems are being blamed for the shutdown in greater numbers than the Republicans, or Trump, in Blue strongholds Trump is surely getting the blame and people who depend on the government are more likely to vote blue when they see benefits threatened.
Can't help but wonder if this shutdown, which seems like Democrat suicide, was timed specifically to push societal sponges to the polls to protect their bennies.
Let's see if the shutdown magically comes to an end after the votes are counted.
