Summary
- Teoh Beng Hock’s family slams ex-Selangor exco over his continued silence regarding AGC’s NFA decision.
- Lee Lan accuses Ean Yong of evading responsibility and questions why he did not ensure Beng Hock had a lawyer during questioning or inform the family about his detention sooner.
The family of Teoh Beng Hock has condemned former Selangor executive councillor Ean Yong Hian Wah for his continued silence over the Attorney-General’s Chambers’(AGC) decision to classify Beng Hock’s case as no further action.
In a scathing Facebook post, Beng Hock's sister Teoh Lee Lan expressed deep frustration that Ean Yong (above) - her brother’s superior at the time of his death - has yet to speak up or take a clear stand, even 21 days after the AGC's NFA decision was made public.
"Sixteen years on, and you remain as useless as ever. You did nothing. Not a word spoken in the name of justice for Beng Hock.
"Whether in government or opposition, Chow Yu Hui and Tan Hong Pin have spoken out on the injustice surrounding Beng Hock’s case. They issued a joint statement, firmly rejecting the NFA decision, demanding that police release the full investigation report.
"And you? Hiding in your position of privilege and comfort, incapable of even taking a stand. What is your position?" wrote Lee Lan, adding that Ean Yong should not remain silent.

Teoh Beng Hock’s sister, Teoh Lee Lan
She accused Ean Yong of evading responsibility since the day of the incident, and questioned why he did not ensure Beng Hock was accompanied by a lawyer during questioning, or why the family was not informed sooner about his detention.
‘You never face us’
She further alleged that Ean Yong had failed to provide any update or explanation to the family in the immediate aftermath of Beng Hock’s death, nor during the funeral.
According to her, Ean Yong only offered a brief apology five days later, which she described as "too late".
"You never face us. You never told us what the MACC was investigating. What exactly went wrong with your accounts? We only found out during the inquest what corruption cases the MACC was probing - and still, you never explain everything (to us)," she said.
However, she noted that the MACC has since cleared Ean Yong of wrongdoing during the inquest.
When contacted, Ean Yong refused to comment on Lee Lan's Facebook posting.
However, the Port Klang Authority chairperson said he fully supports DAP central executive committee’s statement on June 8, which calls on the AGC to review its decision on discontinuing investigations into Beng Hock’s death.

Beng Hock’s death
In 2009, Beng Hock was found dead after overnight questioning at Selangor MACC, which was then headquartered at Plaza Masalam in Shah Alam.

A 2011 Royal Commission of Inquiry ruled he was driven to suicide due to aggressive interrogation. However, in 2014, the Court of Appeal ruled his death was caused or accelerated by unlawful acts, including those of MACC officers.
On Nov 21 last year, the Kuala Lumpur High Court ordered the police to complete the investigation into his death within six months after appeals court judge Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh allowed a judicial review application by Beng Hock’s parents.
However, the police’s Criminal Investigation Department wrote to Beng Hock’s family lawyer Ramkarpal Singh on May 20 to inform him of the AGC’s NFA decision, which police said was determined on May 19.
On May 25, the Teoh Beng Hock Association for Democratic Advancement called for DAP’s five ministers to resign as a protest over the NFA decision.

Though the tragic years for TBH's family, the useless bloke hardly made a sound.
But then, even LKS abandoned TBH to sleep with the enemy (Macc).
