Summary
- Environmental activist Wong Tack criticises Pakatan Harapan over its alleged lack of commitment towards finding justice for Teoh Beng Hock.
- The former DAP MP for Bentong claims Harapan was only riding on Beng Hock's issue to gain votes.
- He says the same also happened to the protest against Lynas rare-earth materials processing plant in Pahang.
Former DAP leader Wong Tack has slammed Pakatan Harapan for turning their back on the family of political aide Teoh Beng Hock, who was found dead at the Selangor MACC office in Shah Alam 17 years ago.
Wong (above) claimed that Harapan only championed the death case because they could use it to gain votes.
The environmental activist pointed out that the same happened to the protest against Lynas's rare-earth processing plant in Gebeng, Pahang.
"All they care about is gaining votes to secure their positions.
"The moment an issue they once championed loses political traction, they won’t bother to waste an ounce of effort or a single minute of their time on it.
"And if they face backlash from the people for failing to fulfil their promises, they resort to unscrupulous tactics to protect themselves.
"Their political machinery will be unleashed to spin the issue. Skewed narratives will be constructed to manipulate public perception," Wong said in a statement.

Teoh Beng Hock’s sister Teoh Lee Lan
The former Bentong MP was responding to a teary plea by Beng Hock's sister Teoh Lee Lan, who questioned Harapan's commitment towards securing justice for her brother's case.
Lee Lan had told a Malaysiakini podcast that her family remains trapped in a long, painful wait for answers and closure.
This followed the police's decision last month to close their reinvestigation into Beng Hock's mysterious death and classify it as no further action.
"Where did your promise of answers go? Why is it now NFA?’
"To be honest, what I really want to ask is this: to all those in Harapan who once stood by our side, why have you changed?" Lee Lan reportedly said during the Chinese-language podcast.
Showing true colours
To this, Wong believed that it was not that Harapan had changed its attitude.
Instead, he claimed, the ruling coalition only showed its true colours after getting into power.
"They haven’t changed, Lee Lan. This is their true nature," Wong said.

Teoh Beng Hock was found dead at the Selangor MACC office in Shah Alam 17 years ago
In 2009, Beng Hock, an aide to then-Selangor state executive councillor Ean Yong Hian Wah, was found dead after overnight questioning at Selangor MACC, which was then headquartered at Plaza Masalam in Shah Alam.
A 2011 Royal Commission of Inquiry ruled that he was driven to suicide due to aggressive interrogation.
However, in 2014, the Court of Appeal ruled his death was caused or accelerated by unlawful acts, including those of MACC officers.

At least in the sad case of Teoh Beng Hock I fully agree with Wong Tack. The first in DAP to treacherously abandon Teoh BH had benn Lim KS. Read below for his sickening ultimate betrayal of TBH:
