PM will consult PN on MoU, says Hadi
Abdul Hadi Awang said any decision on the MoU needed to be made jointly by the parties that made up the federal government.
PETALING JAYA: PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang says Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob will be consulting Perikatan Nasional on the decision to not extend Putrajaya’s memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Pakatan Harapan.
Hadi maintained that any decision on the MoU needed to be made jointly by the parties that made up the federal government.
“A meeting will be held between the prime minister, PN president Muhyiddin Yassin, myself, and (the leaders of) other PN party components,” he told reporters at the sidelines of an event without elaborating further.
Yesterday, the Umno Supreme Council decided that the federal government’s MoU with PH should not be extended after it expires on July 31.
Ismail then said the government would follow the Umno Supreme Council’s stand on the MoU, adding that any changes that might happen at the end of July would still be discussed with his party’s top leadership.
Umno had also announced that Ismail will be the party’s prime minister candidate for GE15.
When asked if PAS would support Ismail as prime minister in GE15, Hadi said the Islamic party did not want to be hasty over the matter and would “leave it to the people”.
“Elections are not far off, the people will decide who it (the prime minister) will be, and which party. There’s no hurry.
“We could end up seeing a Johor-like situation, where one person is nominated but someone else is put forward,” he said.
Hadi was referring to how Barisan Nasional’s menteri besar candidate for the Johor polls, Hasni Mohammad, ended up not being appointed to the post.
However, the Marang MP maintained that PAS’ cooperation with Umno through Muafakat Nasional would continue.

I am laughing at Hadi now. How desperate he sounds.
ReplyDeleteEither he is too stupid to realise BN does not think much about PN or PAS or he has an inflated sense of his own importance.
