Huge Israeli attack kills more than 70 in north Gaza’s Beit Lahiya

• At least 73 people have been killed in an Israeli attack on north Gaza’s Beit Lahiya. Many people remain trapped under rubble and the death toll is expected to rise, Gaza’s Government Media Office says.
• Details of the attack are emerging amid a communications blackout in the north of the Gaza Strip where a 16-day Israeli military siege has cut off access to food, water, medicine and vital services.
• In the southern Gaza Strip, Oxfam says an Israeli attack killed four water engineers and workers travelling to repair infrastructure near Khan Younis.
• In Gaza, at least 42,519 people have been killed and 99,637 wounded in Israeli attacks

This is in the western part of Beit Lahiya, known as the Beit Lahiya Project area.

A very densely populated area, as I said, and more recently, the population doubled because of the forced evacuation orders by the Israeli military [in northern Gaza].

Other than the 100 killed, we are looking at many people still buried under the rubble.

A witness from the area described the massive explosion resulting from multiple air strikes shaking the very foundations of the surrounding areas.
