Its now very fashionable to condemn prime minister Anwar Ibrahim and his government. This is a total diversion from what is really going on.

An elaborate network of trolls is working overtime criticizing Anwar and his government. This is not hard to do, as in all honesty, his tenure as prime minister has left a lot to be desired. I was one of its greatest critics. Through WhatsApp groups it’s really trendy to jump on the anti-Madani bandwagon.

If you criticize Anwar, that’s OK according to the authorities. But if you criticize the concept of halal garbage collection, you will be arrested and held in custody as a means of intimidation. There is now a deep chilling effect on all bloggers and political commentators in Malaysia – a climate of fear is real.

As the writer knows, if you criticize agencies, sensitive parts of the bureaucracy, they will come after you. They spent RM 5.0 million to chase me across South-East Asia. All the law-enforcements attacks on those who criticize elements of the bureaucracy reflect badly on Anwar, as they are aimed to do by the people behind it. They are getting away Scott-free and being voted into power.

Expose elements of corruption by the connected-contractors, scammers, and those who are stealing the public purse and you will be arrested, or sued by elements that make up part of the ‘deep state’ that are closely connected to UMNO and the power-elite within Malaysia.

This the coup d’état that is going on in Malaysia today. Anwar was put into power by the deep state and managed. They demanded a lot in a totally overboard fashion. Even members of the cabinet (and former members) fear speaking up. Yes, corruption has risen under Anwar Ibrahim, but most of it is coming from these elements of the deep state.

UMNO is planning to retake Putra Jaya and destroy Pakatan Harapan (who didn’t expose them) so they can rule the country as a feudal elite once again. The plan is taking shape and the public is truly unaware of what is really going on here.

While the public celebrate the defeat of Anwar Ibrahim, the dark forces within Malaysia will this time around come back without any statutory body, or law-enforcement officer to prevent this. Justice will once again just be bought and traded by those in power. The issue is not about race. This is just another diversion. Its about putting a dark elite back in total control of the country, without sharing any power with others.

Most of those who can confirm what I have written above have been silence. Brush off what I have said as a conspiracy theory is your prerogative, but the truth will soon out come and everyone will be stuck with it.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel has rejected United States President Donald ⁠Trump’s Board of Peace plan for Gaza and will not ⁠withdraw forces until the Palestinian group Hamas ⁠fully disarms.

“Israel rejects the 15-point document,” Netanyahu said at a cabinet meeting on Sunday, referring to a plan endorsed last month by the Palestinian group Hamas.

The Israeli army “will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is genuinely disarmed … and will continue to thwart threats against our forces and our citizens”, he added.

He added that Israel is “talking to the Americans about this issue”.

“They have ideas, some of which are acceptable to us and some are not acceptable to us, and we know how to stand firm on these things,” the prime minister said.

There was no immediate response from the White House or Hamas.

Israel has continued ⁠to carry out near-daily deadly attacks across the Gaza Strip since agreeing to a “ceasefire” with Hamas last ⁠October.

Trump had announced on July 30 a “historic” agreement that entailed “the complete disarmament of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza”, which he called “a monumental step toward lasting peace and security”.

But last week, the US-led Board of Peace said an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza would only take place after the disarmament of Hamas is complete, following a meeting between the body’s director, Nickolay Mladenov, and Netanyahu.

Speaking to his cabinet Sunday, Netanyahu vowed that “as long as I am prime minister, no Palestinian state will arise” and emphasised that Israel would not abide by the US-backed plan.

Israel’s desire for “real disarmament, not fictitious disarmament” would mean removal of all weaponry, including lighter weapons, he said.

The 15-point plan calls for initially focusing on Hamas’s heavy weaponry, military production sites, weapons depots and the group’s extensive tunnel network.

Reporting from Gaza City, Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud said Netanyahu’s statement  raises “serious questions” for Palestinians about the path out of hostilities.

“The full rejection here puts the sequencing and the steps into question,” Mahmoud said.

Reporting from Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank, Al Jazeera’s Nour Odeh said Netanyahu’s stated conditions could prove “extremely problematic for the Board of Peace and the mediators who have been working for months now to try to carry out the disarmament of Hamas”.

The roadmap would eventually involve transferring Gaza’s day-to-day administration to a technocratic Palestinian committee operating under the oversight of the Board of Peace.

WE Malaysians instinctively know that the most prestigious job in our dear country will always be the Prime Minister.

According to imoney.my, the official monthly salary allocated for the Prime Minister of Malaysia is RM22,826.75 under the Members of Parliament (Remuneration) Act.

That is a lot of money, but not that much compared to a seasoned general manager from a publicly listed or an international firm.

So netizens by default, are very sceptical when the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission found a sizable amount of money and cash linked to ex-Prime Minister Ismail Sabri.

The MACC seized RM170 mil in cash in various foreign currencies and 16kg of gold bullion worth RM7 mil on properties believed to have been used as safe houses following the arrests of four of Ismail Sabri’s former senior officers in February 2025.

Accompanying the post was an infographic with Ismail Sabri’s photo in it, and a breakdown of the foreign currencies found.

These range from a whopping 300 mil Japanese yen, 34.75 mil UAE Dirham and the list goes on. Netizens have much to say about this too.

But here is to the other side of the story. According to @usprotec, this just proves that he is a simple man who didn’t know how to hide dirty money.

“The Chinese will bring up and talk badly about corruption as if they are saints. I just have one question, who started corruption in this country? Who used it to grow their business and their wealth?” added @PuvinCM.

Whatever the truth behind the money and gold, the episode has once again reminded Malaysians of one uncomfortable reality: political power and personal wealth will always attract scrutiny.

The figures involved are certainly eye-watering, and the online reactions show just how deeply divided Malaysians remain when it comes to allegations of corruption and the politicians they support.

Ultimately, however, social media verdicts are not the same as a court of law. Until the authorities establish where the money came from and who it belongs to, Malaysians can only speculate.—Aug 9, 2026

PETALING JAYA: A former aide to ex-prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin has criticised PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang for labelling DAP as an enemy of Islam, warning that this is taking the country on an unhealthy trajectory.

Marzuki Mohamad said the rekindling of ties between Umno and PAS has led to the two traditional rivals “manufacturing” a common enemy in DAP, adding that this was necessary to sustain their newly revived pact and mobilise Malay support.

“While political critique of the DAP is entirely legitimate – and something I engage in frequently – demonising the party and its supporters as enemies of Islam is a dangerous escalatory tactic.


“Doing so also inadvertently categorises roughly 75% of the nation’s non-Muslim population as enemies of Islam. This trajectory is profoundly unhealthy for the nation,” he said in a Facebook post.

Yesterday, Hadi claimed DAP was leading Pakatan Harapan in “continuing the work of colonisers to destroy Malay-Muslims”, citing its push to revive local council elections and its “Malaysian Malaysia” vision, among others.


This was slammed by DAP leaders and Wanita Amanah chief Aiman Athirah Sabu, who dared Hadi to haul DAP to court if he had proof to back up his claims.

Marzuki pointed out that Umno and PAS, the country’s two largest Malay-Muslim parties, were engaged in a bitter “Islamisation race” in the 1970s and 1980s.

He said it was during this period that Hadi delivered his infamous speech where he branded Umno members as “kafir” (infidels) and the fight against the Barisan Nasional lynchpin as a “jihad”.

“This ideological race decelerated in the late 1990s when PAS formed an alliance with PKR and DAP, a predominantly non-Muslim and secular party, to challenge the hegemony of Umno and BN.


“Consequently, the political discourse shifted throughout the 2000s to focus on governance, corruption, public welfare, and economic performance.

“Today, these former archnemeses have refashioned themselves as ‘frenemies’ under the banner of Malay-Muslim unity,” Marzuki said, referring to Umno and PAS.

PETALING JAYA: A former DAP leader has predicted that Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional’s pact will not last until the next general election (GE16), which he expects will turn into a “free for all” between political parties.

Former Selangor assemblyman Ronnie Liu said the cooperation between the two coalitions in the recent Negeri Sembilan polls was merely tactical and a temporary “marriage of convenience”.

Liu, who formally joined Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) today, said the first signs of trouble in BN-PN could already be seen in negotiations for the Melaka polls.


He said their split would stem from the belief held by both coalitions that they were strong enough to compete for more seats, especially since their key components, Umno and PAS, largely vie for the same voter base.

“Very soon you’ll see cracks between PN and BN. They will divorce and then go their separate ways.


“Then in GE16, it will be a free for all,” he said at a press conference today.

BN remains a key ally of Pakatan Harapan’s in the federal government, while PN makes up the largest bloc in the opposition. The last general election resulted in a hung Parliament with PH winning 82 seats followed by PN (74) and BN (30).

Last week, PBM president Larry Sng predicted that BN-PN could win enough seats in Peninsular Malaysia alone to form the federal government in GE16 if their alliance remains intact.

PBM can perform better than Muda, Bersama


Separately, Sng expressed confidence that PBM could outperform other smaller parties, such as Muda and Bersama, and win several state and parliamentary seats in future elections.

“I believe PBM will do better. We’ll do better than Bersama, we’ll do better than Muda, and we’ll do better than other smaller parties,” said the Julau MP, who is also PBM’s sole elected representative.

Sng was asked how he expected PBM to fare compared with Muda and Bersama.

The former Sarawak PKR chief said PBM’s support base in Borneo remained intact with him at the helm and as the sole MP.


He nonetheless acknowledged that building a similar presence in the peninsula would take time.

Sng said PBM has not decided which peninsula state elections it would contest, but the party was open to exploring possible electoral understandings or pacts with other blocs, including in GE16.

Meanwhile, Liu predicted that GE16 would only be held after Malaysia hosts the SEA Games, which will take place from Sept 18-29 next year. This would give PBM slightly more than a year to prepare, he added.

Liu also expressed confidence PBM could win over segments of West Malaysians, saying the party aimed to practice non-racial, non-theocratic politics and provide a new political platform for all.

  Kuwait welcomes UN condemnation of Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia

  Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry has lauded a UN Security Council statement condemning Houthi missile attacks against Saudi Arabia since July 13 and attacks on commercial shipping since July 22.

  The Houthis – who control much of northern Yemen, including the capital, Sanaa – have carried out repeated drone and missile strikes against Saudi Arabia and targeted commercial vessels in the Red Sea and surrounding waters, disrupting one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes.

  The attacks have drawn widespread international condemnation and prompted calls for enforcement of UN Security Council Resolution 2216, which imposed an arms embargo on the Houthis.

  Kuwait expressed full appreciation for the Security Council’s affirmation of the need to adhere to international law and relevant resolutions, including Resolution 2216, and its rejection of acts threatening regional security and freedom of maritime navigation.

  ‘This is not the kind of ceasefire we want to see’ in Gaza, UN official says

  A ceasefire exists on paper in Gaza but not in reality, says Ajith Sunghay, head of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in occupied Palestinian territory.

  “While a ceasefire was declared, there have been numerous violations of international humanitarian law and human rights law throughout this period since October 2023,” Sunghay told Al Jazeera.

  His office’s figures show 1,150 people killed since the ceasefire announcement, the majority of them civilians, through bombardment, naval strikes and gunfire across the 30 percent of Gaza still accessible to Palestinians.

  Sunghay said the UN high commissioner for human rights has raised the issue repeatedly. “This is not the kind of ceasefire we want to see,” he said.

  On whether reporting to the UN Security Council or the International Criminal Court (ICC) is making any difference, Sunghay said: “There have been small steps taken, minor changes, but they are not enough for people in Gaza to feel that anything has really changed.”

  The humanitarian situation, he said, remains extremely difficult after nearly 1,000 days of war. Palestinians are confined to 30 percent of the Strip with the Israeli military’s control line shifting constantly. “The bigger problem has not stopped. Urgent action is needed,” he concluded.

  Israel’s Rafah reconstruction plan aims to take control away from Hamas

  Israeli Army Radio reports that reconstruction work in southern Gaza, approved by Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz, will take place east of Rafah, inside the “Yellow Line”.

  It says the directive was issued two weeks ago.

  The report said the aim of the work was to establish a housing project for Palestinians outside the control of Hamas and under the control of the multinational force envisaged by Trump’s Board of Peace.

  However, caravans and mobile buildings would not be allowed in any sooner than November, which is after Israel’s scheduled elections.

  Israeli Transport Minister Miri Regev said reconstruction of Gaza can begin in any area where disarmament has taken place, the report added.

  “If you want Gaza to be rehabilitated, in any area cleared of weapons it is possible to start the process,” she said.

What’s happening in the occupied West Bank?

Attacks by Israeli soldiers and settlers have become a daily reality across the occupied West Bank with an election-bound Israeli government courting the settler vote.

Here are some of the latest attacks:

• This morning, Israeli forces stormed the villages of Awarta, Beita, Einabus, Beit Furik and Salem in Nablus governorate, where they broke into and ransacked multiple homes, according to the Wafa news agency.
• Israeli settlers and soldiers carried out attacks and incursions and caused injuries in the areas of Tubas, al-Mughayyir, Masafer Yatta and Wadi al-Rakhim while also levelling farmland, according to our colleagues on the ground.
• The Israel Land Authority published a new settlement tender for the construction of 627 residential units in the Kokhav Ya’akov settlement, which is built on Palestinian land in the Ramallah and el-Bireh governorate.
• A group of Israeli settlers protected by military forces stormed the town of Beit Ur al-Tahta, west of Ramallah, while firing live ammunition as another group of settlers simultaneously stormed the al-Batin area on the outskirts of the village of Jaljulia, north of Ramallah, Wafa reported.
• On Saturday evening, Israeli forces stormed the Dheisheh refugee camp, south of Bethlehem.
• Israeli forces also stormed the towns of Zaatara, Shuwawra, Dar Salah and al-Ubaydiyya, east of Bethlehem, as part of a wider series of raids, Wafa reported.
