KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan candidates do not need Election Commission approval for using the PKR symbol, but they must only use the logo of the ticket under which they are campaigning, the commission explained today.
EC chairman Mohd Hashim Abdullah issued a statement this morning to clarify the confusion which arose from news reports saying that Pakatan Harapan needed EC approval for using the PKR logo as planned.
In the statement, reported by Bernama, Hashim said he had only remarked that there could be any use of any Pakatan Harapan logo if the coalition has not been registered by the Registrar of Societies and it had not registered a logo with the Election Commission.
“What was stated at the press conference was that if a candidate intends to compete on a PKR ticket, then only the party logo is allowed to be used during the general election for campaign purposes.

“Other party symbols cannot be used as campaign material. This would include the DAP, Amanah and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) symbols,” he said.

He said yesterday’s statement had been misconstrued to mean that use of PKR logo by other party members in the election must be approved by the EC.
So, it's OK to use PKR's logo BUT, for example, the DAP CANNOT use its Rocket side-by-side with the blue bulan nor fly the Rocket during the election campaign.
Sad, but yesterday I did post The day the DAP music died.

In other words, no double dipping, wakakaka. Basically the Rocket is dead, grounded, in oblivion.
The DAP candidates are now stuck with the Blue Moon and possibly may appear to older voters as PKR-istas or worse, those holy mullahs - tough baby.
Sad, but yesterday I did post The day the DAP music died.
At some point, if Pakatan were serious about being a vredible alternative government to BNajis, a common logo would be a necessity.
ReplyDeleteI would have preferred it to be a wholy new logo.
Those who consider it totally inadmissible for DAP to contest without using Rocket are also probably unserious or actually against a real alternative to BN.
Because, the reality is DAP on its own can never be a credible or even acceptable ( to majority) alternative government to BN, not even in Penang.
yep a new logo and should have done much earlier not last minute!!
Deletehehe, u sound like the jealous mca.
ReplyDeletehypothetically, will sentimental dap diehards commit seppuku? nay...will they undirosak? nay...will they switch camp? maybe, when we win the world cup...will they cry kt a river? that's what kt is hoping I guess
ReplyDeleteCould be a blessing in disguise for DAP at this stage.
ReplyDeleteChinese voters know who are their Chinese candidates, so even without the Rocket logo, they know their leaders enough to vote for in their constituencies. But to most brainwashed Melayus, the very logo of DAP is enough to give them the hives, so allergic were they to all things DAP due to relentless propaganda for decades, and especially amp up now by the self-proclaimed bugis warrior. So all in all, nothing to lose about not using the Rocket logo, and in fact, more to gain.
By the by, those so called less informed Chinese coming out to vote are never left alone helpless...many Chinese supporters will invariably be around to explain why the locket gambar not around this time la....so sorry to disappoint some of you here who's maybe hoping these Chinese will mistakenly pangkah the moon ( ala PAS ), hihihi. And again, by the by, even if these people couldn't get help before going into the booth to vote, they know to right to their bones NEVER, NEVER to pangkah the cursed dacing.....afterall, there will be ONLY 2 logos...dacing and the eye. Since they will never put the cross for the dacing symbol, then it is dead certain the eye symbol ( PKR logo) will get the vote, right ? hihihi. ROS eat your heart out le, main lain kuat kuat la....or is it Big Thief eat your heart out, since the directive for chau kar-ness can only come from the top thief...err... top chief.
Logo changes all the time. Ask ck and he will share u many so called logos or flags changed since xinhai revolution. Even tory party has gone thru the logo changed from torch to green tree. Labour from red flag to rose. Ah so, we should ask cheebye kaytee, how about clamouring dap in using petir instead....aiyaaa
DeleteHey that cheebye demands honesty even from me but yet to reveal his true identities.....hahahaha
