Adieu False Heart, Adieu MACC

The Malaysian Insight - MACC targeting Penang, says Guan Eng (extracts):

PENANG today wanted to know why the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) was “targeting” the opposition-led state for not signing the Corruption-Free Pledge when there were other states, including those under Barisan Nasional control, that have not inked the pledge either.

Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said, so far, it seemed that only Penang that had been singled out by MACC in its criticisms.

“What makes Penang so different? If we are the only state that has not signed the pledge, we can understand. But there are other states, including BN states,” he said.

“The MACC knows which states. I don’t want to accuse them of double-standards, but I hope they can explain why,” he told a press conference today.

Yesterday, MACC chief commissioner Dzulkifli Ahmad said the agency was “appalled” by Penang’s apparent snub of the pledge.

It looks like it won't be just the RoS and EC which will continuously kacau, cucuk & ganggu the DAP-led government in Penang but also the MACC.

The UMNO-led Administration must be real sh*t scared of DAP when you see them throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Guan Eng. Yes, even that kitchen sink will soon follow, wakakaka.

I would have like to admit I have been surprised by the MACC being silly in asking the Penang government to sign the Corruption-Free Pledge when such a pledge is meaningless unless there are ways to guide, advise and enforce corruption-free governance. But then, I suppose MACC has to 'car-ma' to appease its Towkay, not unlike RoS and EC, wakakaka.

* kt note: 'car-ma' is 'cari makan', wakakaka

It's just silly buggeration paperwork, all form but in reality no substance, but now contradicting myself that's the 'substance' of 'car-ma' bullshit, wakakaka again.

But I have a far bigger surprise than the MACC targeting ONLY the Penang government but strangely (or not so strangely) quietly avoiding other state governments.

That bigger surprise is that the MACC has a pally-buddy relationship with Lim Kit Siang, who as we all know, is the father of Guan Eng.

Two years ago, Lim Kit Siang abruptly abandoned his hypocritical vow to seek justice for the late Teoh Beng Hock.

Poor Beng Hock was not only a Malaysian journalist but also a political aide to Ean Yong Hian Wah, a member of the Selangor state exco.

Beng Hock was hauled in by the MACC for interrogation on alleged DAP's misuse of RM2400, but during his 'stay' at MACC building in Shah Alam, he 'mysteriously' perished in a fall from the 14th floor of the MACC building.

Many including (at that time) Lim Kit Siang believe(d) Teoh was allegedly murdered.

Teoh Beng Hock's fallen body at MACC building

Recalling, it was on 19 July 2014, the fifth anniversary of Teoh Beng Hock memorial forum 'Human Rights and Political Justice' at the KLSCAH, that Lim KS made a speech as follows (extracts):

The scandal of Beng Hock’s tragic death at the MACC headquarters in Shah Alam on July 16, 2009 is not just MACC officers “were prepared to go to great lengths to lie” but the MACC as an institution which went to great lengths to participate in a conspiracy of silence and lies to pervert the course of justice to “cover up” the actual causes and circumstances of Beng Hock’s death. [...]

Beng Hock’s death would be “in vain” if firstly, his killers remain free and unpunished; and secondly, the MACC is not held responsible and liable for his death and instead allowed to “go to great lengths” to participate in a “cover-up” of the actual causes and circumstances of Beng Hock’s death at the TBH RCI, with MACC officers telling “lies after lies” at the RCI.

I call on Malaysians to stand for justice and to make a commitment that they will not rest until the “cover-up” of Teoh Beng Hock’s criminal and senseless murder is exposed and the killers, including MACC, are brought to justice.

DAP and Pakatan Rakyat will continue to highlight the injustice of Teoh Beng Hock’s unresolved murder at MACC premises in the next meeting of Parliament.

Yet, just one lousy year later after his above-mentioned speech excoriating the MACC, Lim Kit Siang himself led DAP and Pakatan opposition leaders to the MACC office in Putrajaya today to show support for the agency against the police who have been questioning MACC officers on suspicion of leaking documents in its investigation on the state-owned fund.

In that flabbergasting volte-face vis-a-vis the MACC, Lim Kit Siang showed his tragic opportunistic hypocrisy to the family of Teoh Beng Hock but worse, to his very own words which we have long respected.

Lim KS broke our hearts by his treachery to Teoh Beng Hock.

But did the MACC provided him with any 'dividends'?

No?

Hmmm, no wonder if I may say so, that a week ago, Lim KS on hearing that Teoh Beng Hock's sister Lee Lan would be making 'hell' for Najib in the coming GE-14, seized that opportunity to propose another Royal Commission of Inquiry to probe again the death of Teoh Beng Hock.

What? No thoughts now for his matey, the MACC?

Has it been 'love' unrequited for Lim KS?

But then, has it been a 'RCI-revenge' attack on the government for having the nerve to hold a RCI on the notorious Forex scam which may implicate Mahathir, Lim Kit Siang's ally?

And that has been my bigger surprise, that the MACC is targeting ONLY and ESPECIALLY the Penang government when its CM is Guan Eng, the son of MACC's pally-buddy, Lim Kit Siang.

Hmmm, OTOH perhaps the MACC ought to be praised (as Lim Kit Siang had praised it in Aus 2015) for not showing any special favours to Guan Eng in carrying its duties, stupid as those 'duties' might have been, wakakaka.

Will Lim Kit Siang now lead another Pakatan delegation to the MACC building to show his support once again for MACC? Well, this time he can take along his new Best Friend, Mahathir.

From my other blog KTemoc Komposes:

Let us not forget Teoh Beng Hock

Alas, someone in the DAP might have forgotten
The evil that was perpetuated on a young man
By a Nazi-like organization that has been rotten
Yet easily forgiven by a political flash in the pan

All for grubby politics, none for integrity nor justice
For a man slain on the very eve of his wedding day
Oh we weep, what treachery to become so solicitous
To abandon principles, an evil crime now is gainsay

DAP leader Lim Kit Siang shook hands with Rohaizad Yaakob, a top Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) official to show the opposition’s solidarity with the MACC

Yet just a year earlier Kit Siang in his article, titled "Malaysians will not rest until justice is done for the killing of Teoh Beng Hock" said DAP and Pakatan Rakyat would continue to highlight the injustice of Teoh Beng Hock’s unresolved murder

what utter bullshit

But I haven't!

When is the MACC going to hand over to the police the person responsible for the untimely death of Teoh Beng Hock?

Teoh Beng Hock, forgotten for grubby politics?

    3. why has it been a case of MACC singling out ONLY the Penang government? Hasn't that been a form of unclean practice? so again you advocate any unfairness against DAP? aren't you 'corrupted' by your bias?

    4. even if I am bias, which I dun think I am, can u understand y lge now said pg govt is willing to sign without mention double std anymore? could it be yr bias , or yr rush to protect yr master lead u substantiate a nonsensical excuse of double std?

    5. LGE hasn't told me why, but I can guess. Initially he and most DAP people saw it as MACC harassment when only Penang state but not other state governments (especially BN state government) was asked to sign the pledge. I posed this question to you but you haven't explain why yet as you were more interested in digging at LGE's initial refusal to sign a meaningless pledge.

LGE must have realise that to get the MACC off his back, it's easier for him to sign it and f**k the MACC off

HY, you have a notorious reputation for being anti dap. You've shown this bias by not bothering to ask why the MACC has singled out the Penang govt but not the other states. You were more interested to show LGE was being difficult

    6. who I am is not really relevant, what other state stance oso not that relevant, on issue like no corruption, which dap advocate along the years, it's no point for dap to argue n play politics with macc, now a najib offensive doggie army, unless they have something to hide. l know lge is pretty childish most of the time, but I can't believe his defensive doggie army like u oso react the same.

  2. There is something I have found rather curious about Teoh Beng Hock's body - i.e. the absence of blood on the concrete floor after having supposedly fallen nine storeys from the 14th to the 5th floor.

I would expect that after such a nine story drop, presumably whilst still alive, there would have quite likely been a substantial amount of blood around on the floor around his body, if not a pool of blood.

This raises questions as to whether he had died or been allegedly murdered elsewhere and his body placed there.

    1. Thai pathologist Dr Pornthip Rojanasunand who did the postmortem and exhumation check on Teoh gave expertise evidence on the disputed cause of Teoh Beng Hock’s unexplained death after a night of interrogation by MACC

if I recall, she said she found bruises on Teoh's neck

  3. In any society which respects the rule of law, or at least claims to respect the rule of law, a Top Executive acting to shut down or sabotage an investigation which is threatening to lead to his own door is a big NO-NO.

The USA, for all its faults, is doing the right thing.
Donald Trump thought he could put a stop to investigations into his campaign links to Russia by firing the FBI Director. It resulted in the appointment of a Special Counsel with even broader powers to investigate him.

In Malaysia, many Malaysians, including Ktemoc, have done very badly. Keeping silent or even attacking the Investigators , in the face of blatant acts of obstruction of justice. Essentially acting as Najib lackeys and attack mongrels.

I treat Lim Kit Siang's visit to the MACC on August 6, 2015 as transactional and relevant to the specific situation. The MACC investigation into corrupt transactions which allegedly involved Najib was under threat of being shut down through personal intimidation of the investigators.

One Senior Attorney-General's Office lawyer (Jessica Gurmeet Kaur) was sacked from her job for cooperating with investigators by providing relevant documents. She was a Singaporean with Malaysian permanent residence, and was being threatened with forced separation from her family through revocation of her resident status and deportation.

Lim Kit Siang turned up at the MACC to show the Najib administration that such bully tactics will not be condoned in silence. I support him on that basis.

lks did that not to support so-called' righteousness' but to attack his political opponents.

very soon I'll be writing a post to show the dark side of lks where he would EVEN exploit people's tragic traumas to gain a few political brownie points - that will show what sort of person lks has been and is

    2. If Lim Kit Siang was shaming his political opponent Najib for a valid issue, which this case definitely is, he is not being evil, he is just doing his job.
