Malaysian coup d'etat averted?

MM Online - Foreign minister: Withdrawal of Rome Statute due to risk of ‘coup d’etat’ triggered by ‘deep state’ (extracts):

KUALA LUMPUR, April 7 — The Cabinet’s reversal of its ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) was a “political” move done for fear of a coup d’etat attempt spurred on by powers behind the scene, Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah explained.

The foreign minister pointed out history has shown that a coup d’etat is a common reaction to democratic advancement and the public rising up following an election, and it is usually instigated by the “deep state.”

“[There was the] possibility of the issue being manipulated to the extent that people go to the streets, moved by the ‘deep state’ and certain apparatus,” Saifuddin told Malay Mail and several other media outlets in an interview yesterday.

“Deep state”, also known as a “state within a state”, refers to a form of secret government or network that operates independently of a country’s political leadership for its own personal agenda.

Depending on each country, it may include the armed forces, secret police, intelligence agencies, or even civil servants but Saifuddin refused to clarify his definition of the term during the interview.

“I would keep it that way, let the ‘rakyat’ decide. I use the term apparatus... that are not democratically elected,” said the Pakatan Harapan (PH) secretariat chief
.

Wow, we have been saved (thus far) from a potential coup d'etat, presumably launched by 'someone who wants the freedom to bash people up'.

Has the recently-maligned Special Branch spilled the beans on the alleged coup d'etat?

The SB has had a 'reputation' for knowing everything under the Malaysian sun, though how effective it is today remains to be seen, especially when it has recently been smeared with kidnapping allegations. It used to be there, here, everywhere but yet, not around to be seen. In short, it deals with intelligence in the most covet manner and leave overt operational work to other departments, whether police, the military or civil service.

There seems to be a kernel of truth in Saifuddin's revelation based on recent public shows of protests against ICERD and 'Rome Statute'. The recent firestorm at an Indian temple hasn't helped. But we need to learn more before we can come to grips with such an unprecedented allegation.

  1. May or may not be a plot at actual coup d'tat, but there is certainly a family of Royals who are far exceeding the boundaries of Constitutional Monarchy to interfere with the rightful functions and policies of elected governments, both Federal and State.

  2. An example of a state within a state (or Deep State) is the Islamic State. Is that good or bad?

Poor Toonsie is totally lost. He doesn't have a clue how to govern a minority government, having only 13 Parliament seats (frogs don't count). Mere MPs like Ramkarpal from his own coalition can hantam him publicly. Latheefah from outside also scold him.

It was reported that 90& of his own cabinet ministers were against pulling out of the Rome Statute. Toonsie had to make the announcement alone, no ministers with him. His own coalition members stopped him from becoming Education Minister. Sign ICERD tak boleh. Kiandee jadi PAC Chairman oso tak boleh. More fun when you are Pharoh.

Now even the royals, whom Toonsie use to ketuk, are biting back....hard. Can the Agong dissolve parliament and sack Toonsie if the royals are not happy? Is that why Toonsie is scared?

It is wrong (even ilegal?) to "topple a democratically elected government".....a phrase used upteen times before GE14.

Toonsie should step down, time for his redemption is running out. If he stays too long people will get angry with him again. Hand over to someone from a party having around 50 seats. DPM from another party having 40-50 seats. This will be a stronger government but total seats must still be less than simple majority 112. Check and Balance. New Malaysia. I'm Lovin' It...!

    1. NO!

Mamak stays yr course. DON'T stand down, though this time round the fight IS harder.

Just read the comments throughout the bolihland blogosphere, English & Malay (while the cinabengs r a given), to find out the REAL sentiments wrt this latest issue.

His current colleagues r political lalangs. Majority, especially the melayu, r swaying instantly with the crosswind of the outspoken minority - a pack of agitated ketuanan freaks & blur-sotongs.

Not so sure about the zombies, as their alpha male has claimed to support mamak in the event of 'coup d'etat'. It he does what he has said THEN bolihland will be in a diabolical state, where mamak has to compromise to work with a theologian f'ck!

    1. Hmmm... you should ask PAN Saifuddin Abdullah because he mentioned the words coup d'etat? As you have mentioned there are aplenty of sneaky leaders.

    2. In the case in question, UMNO and PAS are on the same side as the conspirators.

  4. Now the picture becomes clearer for everyone.

PAS and UMNO leaders support for TDM as PM earlier were actually Red Herrings thrown while they were quietly going about plotting a Coup de Tat with the help of Trojan Horses in all the various Royalties households, security agencies, Govt. departments, NGOs, Islamists etc. And all using and spreading untruths about DAP and appointment of top posts to Nons as a cover and also as the fall guy to justify their machinations.

The battle of such an attempted Coup has just begun and the endings don't look good for those plotting such an amateurish plot. Better flee while TDM is still in shock when uncovered in the nick of time before the axes fall. TDM has just stopped dead everyone with the U-turn on the latest Rome Statute after the previous attempt using ICERD when the 3Rs bashings was just not strong enough by the coup plotters.

Unlike DSAI, TDM is not called a Dictator and politician par excellance for Nothing.

For TDM, Machiavelli's "The Ends justifies the Means" spares non of those who crossed his path.

Posterior fractures of the ribcage WASN'T detected when x-rayed at IJN until the autopsy!

Only the anterior bone fractures of the ribcage WAS detected by the 'specialists' at IJN during 'examinations'!

It was learnt that the unique injury was not detected during the clinical examination of the victim at the National Heart Institute (IJN) intensive care unit on Nov 30.

& more 'funny' business as to put a heavily injuries person on weight training just few days after major operations!

    Specialists INDEED!

Wondering whether mamak WOULD want these mfers to 'work' on him again when the need arises as in his first bypass operation?
