Pribumi member claimed Nothing2Hide chaos was deliberately started by Pribumi

MM Online - PPBM (PRIBUMI) leader says ‘Nothing To Hide’ fracas started by own party members (extracts):

SHAH ALAM, Aug 17 ― A Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) leader today claimed that the fracas at the “Nothing to Hide 2.0” forum last Sunday was caused by party members themselves and that their anger was directed at him.

Wan Mohammad Ashraf Nasjaruddin, PPBM Shah Alam security director, also said that he had received death threats as well.

He said he had lodged two police reports, one over the fracas and the other on the death threats.

“I lodged the first police report because I want the police to investigate the fracas. A video clip of the forum shows that the chairs were hurled in my direction and not towards PPBM chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

“I suspect that those involved were from among the organising committee, secretariat and several PPBM members themselves.

“The chaos was triggered to prevent me from asking Dr Mahathir several other questions after those on the Memali incident were asked by others,” he said to reporters after lodging the reports at the Shah Alam Police headquarters here.

Wan Mohammad Ashraf said that following the fracas, he received death threats from unidentified individuals on the PPBM Facebook account.

The threats were also directed at his family and it was for safety reasons that he lodged the second police report, he said.

Wan Mohammad Ashraf also called on PPBM Youth chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman to resign, saying the latter had failed to ensure the security of guests at the forum.

“I am prepared to remain in the party and challenge him until he resigns,” he said.

Possible?

Or as Pakatan Harapan supporters would vow, dia dah makan, bukan bukan, telan (wakakaka) dedak.

Recall the Taiwan presidential elections on 20 March 2004. Two days later (22 March 2014) the Australian ABC reported:

Taiwan's high court sealed election ballot boxes on Sunday as protesters massed to contest President Chen Shui-bian's victory after a mysterious assassination attempt and the discovery of many spoiled ballots.

Chen Shui-bian

Defeated Nationalist Party contender Lien Chan called for a recount and a special inquiry into the shooting of incumbent Mr Chen on the eve of Saturday's poll that swung the vote in the island's closest-ever presidential election.

Lien Chan

Joining thousands of cheering supporters staging a sit-in outside the presidential palace, Mr Lien demanded answers to the many questions surrounding Friday's shooting in which Chen and Vice President Annette Lu were slightly wounded.

"Why don't we trust the government? Because there are too many things under a cloud of suspicion," Mr Lien, the scion of one of Taiwan's wealthiest families, told his supporters.

There has been widespread speculation that the shooting may have been staged, but officials have denied this.

Media surveys had pointed to a win for Mr Lien and analysts said an 11th-hour sympathy vote may have given this narrowest of wins to Mr Chen, who was fired at twice by at least one unidentified gunman.

He sustained a minor gunshot wound while campaigning in an open-top jeep.

The Nationalist Party also accused Chen Shui-bian of staging the shooting to draw away police and military from the voting as the forces were deemed pro-Nationalist Party.

Investigation into the shooting point to Chen Yi-hsiung who conveniently died prior to the police apprehending him.

In 2009 Chen Shui-bian, wife and son-in-law were convicted of various charges such as corruption, embezzlement and misuse of official funds and money laundering, and jailed. His life sentence was subsequently reduced.

Earlier in Indonesia we may ask how did Suharto come to power, some say, with the connivance of the CIA which was concerned about Soekarno's dalliance with the USSR.

As usual, the Cinapeks (capitalists or otherwise) were massacred along with pribumi komunis.

Wikipedia (extract only) tell us that in Indonesia:

Before dawn on 1 October 1965, six army generals were kidnapped and executed in Jakarta by soldiers from the Presidential Guard, Diponegoro Division, and Brawidjaja Division. Soldiers occupied Merdeka Square including the areas in front of the Presidential Palace, the national radio station, and telecommunications centre. At 7:10 am Untung bin Sjamsuri announced on radio that the "30 September Movement" had forestalled a coup attempt on Sukarno by "CIA-backed power-mad generals", and that it was "an internal army affair".

The 30 September Movement never made any attempt on Suharto's life. Suharto had been in Jakarta army hospital that evening with his three-year-old son Tommy who had a scalding injury. It was here that he was visited by Colonel Abdul Latief, a key member of 30 September Movement and close family friend of Suharto.

According to Latief's later testimony, the conspirators assumed Suharto to be a Sukarno-loyalist, hence Latief went to inform him of the impending kidnapping plan to save Sukarno from treacherous generals, upon which Suharto seemed to offer his neutrality.

Upon being told of the killings, Suharto went to KOSTRAD headquarters just before dawn from where he could see soldiers occupying Merdeka Square. He mobilized KOSTRAD and RPKAD (now Kopassus) special forces to seize control of the centre of Jakarta, capturing key strategic sites including the radio station without resistance.

Suharto announced over the radio at 9:00 pm that six generals had been kidnapped by "counter-revolutionaries" and that the 30 September Movement actually intended to overthrow Sukarno. He said he was in control of the army, and that he would crush the 30 September Movement and safeguard Sukarno.

Suharto issued an ultimatum to Halim Air Force Base, where the G30S had based themselves and where Sukarno, air force commander Omar Dhani and PKI chairman Dipa Nusantara Aidit had gathered, causing them to disperse before Suhartoist soldiers occupied the air base on 2 October after short fighting.

With the failure of the poorly organised coup, and having secured authority from the president to restore order and security, Suharto's faction was firmly in control of the army by 2 October (he was officially appointed army commander on 14 October). On 5 October, Suharto led a dramatic public ceremony to bury the generals' bodies.

Complicated and partisan theories continue to this day over the identity of the attempted coup's organisers and their aims. The army's version, and subsequently that of the "New Order", was that the PKI was solely responsible.

A propaganda campaign by the army, and Islamic and Catholic student groups, convinced both Indonesian and international audiences that it was a communist coup attempt, and that the killings were cowardly atrocities against Indonesian heroes.

The army in alliance with religious civilian groups led a campaign to purge Indonesian society, government, and armed forces of the communist party and leftist organisations.

The purge spread from Jakarta to much of the rest of the country. (see: Indonesian killings of 1965–1966). The most widely accepted estimates are that at least half a million were killed. As many as 1.5 million were imprisoned at one stage or another.

As a result of the purge, one of Sukarno's three pillars of support, the Indonesian Communist Party, was effectively eliminated by the other two, the military and political Islam.

Many in Indonesia said the CIA was the schemer of Gestapu which crippled the PKI (Indon Communist Party) and brought pro-West Suharto into power.
