Such a thing as free lunch in 'new' (old) Malaysia

Once we had 'Scissors Salad' in the Malaysian Parliament wakakaka. If Augustus Caesar were alive he would have laughed himself to death.

Just then, we had wagyu beef for eight VVIPs in parliament - wow - at RM2,000 per kg.

Malaysiakini reported (extracts):

look at the marbling
RM2,000 per kg is sap-sap suoi for some Malaysians especially if paid for by taxpayers

The wagyu beef served during the luncheon for MPs was on the house - from the caterer and not Parliament House.

Moreover, the pricey dish was served only to eight guests on the VVIP table.

This was according to Tengku Nasaruddin Tengku Mohamed, who is Parliament's corporate communication division secretary.

"The wagyu beef dish [...] was an additional dish prepared by the caterer to celebrate the appointment of the Dewan Rakyat speaker.

"It was not ordered by the Malaysian Parliament," said Tengku Nasaruddin in a statement today.

It is understood that Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and the Speaker Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof were sitting at that particular table
.

I heard that Mahathir, wifey Siti Hasmah, Wan Azizah and Speaker Ariff were among the eight lucky lunchers.

I wonder who were the other four?

Could they have been:

(1) wifey of Speaker?

(2 & 3) Lim Kit Siang and wifey?

(4) hubby Anwar?

But I heard Najib was not invited, wakakaka.

The cost of each luncheon was touted as around RM1,500 but it's wonderfully free if you believe Tengku Nasaruddin, Parliament's corporate communication division secretary.

What I do know is that it's definitely very very delicious and very exclusive, a luncheon fit for an Emperor. And free too, wakakaka, whether sponsored by the caterer or not, wakakaka again - a new (but old) Malaysia.

  1. What is important is that the Japanese suppliers have prepared the beef according to Muslim tradition.
Jakim should look into this matter.

  2. Why only to 8 VVIPs in Parliament? It should be to all PH MPS and the Parliament staff as well. It won't bankrupt the Nation and it's only once to celebrate a new Speaker and a new PH Govt.

For the BN, PAS and opposition MPs, serve them RM1 chicken, cockles, ikan kembong and lots and lots of Kangkong.

Let them eat what ordinary Rakyat eat since they have been feeding on Wahyu beef in their homes and clubs since GST was imposed.

    Wakakakakakakakaka
