Sex and Sisyphus

Almost 5 years ago I posted Shariibuu-Altantuyaa, Susan Loone, Scumbags, Sisyphus and Sex

I thought instead of posting a brand new post today I would reproduce the above here, with just one minor update wakakaka, you'll find out soon why I wakakaka-ed ;-) Here goes:

Most of you would have read the murder trial of the Mongolian model, Shaariibuu Altantuyaa, that Malaysiakini had been reporting faithfully.

Equally faithful in her reports on the murder and the subsequent trial too had been renowned blogger Susan Loone. But many won’t realize that Susan has been doing so as a private dedicated undertaking, because she is the sort of person who is passionate about justice, and Susan has decided sometime back that she would keep watch for Altantuyaa, to seek truth and justice.

But scurrilous scumbags have unfairly accused her of being paid (by whom?) to write on the Shaariibuu Altantuyaa tragedy. And really, while one may expect those accusations to come from certain quarters, if you know what I mean, those (the scurrilous accusations) had come from within the bloggers community, some who are not aligned with the government.

Musuh dalam selimut, as the Malay saying goes! Scumbags, snakes, slugs!

The following was what Susan wrote in her post One year anniversary of Altantuya’s murder:

I am not giving up either despite the countless accusations by top bloggers in the country that I am paid to do the Mongolian story. I don’t know what you people get by spreading the word. I only know this: that perhaps you can’t imagine that someone can champion a cause for the sake of truth and justice and do not need to be paid a single cent. Some people also do it for fun, and some do it because they are trained to do these things. But if you think that people act only when they get paid, that is because you yourself get paid for writing your blogs probably.

But I don’t get paid for anything I write on this blog. I’ve neglected this blog, partly feeling disheartened at how vicious people can be, how true it is that some bloggers are indeed liars. But the other part is that when I left my job at the human rights organization recently, I no longer have a lap-top. So, posts had been scarce and will be scarce. I’m looking for a job now, especially in the writing, journalistic and editing field.

What a nasty blow below the belt, at a time when Susan was struggling to find a job. Why do they need to bad-mouth poor Susan? Settling old scores? Ooooooh, real nasty, real mean minded.

I have every faith in Susan, in her words, in her character, and in her sincerity. I can’t say the same for some people who are unlike Susan, and who would blog only for their personal career advancement or personal agenda.

In Malaysia socio-political blogging carries some disadvantages. Politically, our society has become so divided that there’s no middle ground. It has become George Bush-y, the “either you’re with us or you’re against us”, or “you must have a secret agenda” sometimes meaning “who are you blogging for?” or "how much you are being paid to rubbish so and so” ;-)

I only wish the last could be true as I could do with a few odd ringgit.

When I blogged as follows, the respective comments would invariably arise:

1) anti AAB – awwwwlright kaytee
2) defending AAB* – how much are you being paid?

* I did defend AAB once when there were salacious remarks against him regarding the photo with Michelle Yeoh at a dinner party

3) anti Najib – spot on, kaytee, way to go

4) defending Najib* – how much are you being paid?

* the bull about Najib being responsible for the Nuri crash, which accusations even before the investigation findings were out would have cruelly aggravated the sorrows of the bereaving families, and just for grubby political gains

5) pro-Palestinians or anti-Israeli – you are blind, what did the Jews do to you, you’re an Arab lover, you suck up to the Muslims, you write to appease local expectations, then of course there's you are most fair, at last a fair comment from a non-Muslim/Chinese

6) anti-PAS or anti-Mufti of Perak – I am going to get you, we have a kilafah team waiting to ‘discuss’ stuff with you, we want you to come down to meet us PAS people and of course there's the good onya, KT, that’s the way, kick those bastards etc

7) anti Anwar – you’re prejudiced, you’re biased, what did Anwar do to you, you’re playing into the hands of the UMNO people, why don’t you shut up, we’re watching you, you are always anti-Malay and anti-Muslims, why don’t you propose someone who is better than Anwar if you even can

8) pro Anwar – ... er … er … er … sorry, I haven’t yet made any pro Anwar posting ;-) but I am quite tempted to just to gauge the reception

New update:
I actually ... gasp ... defended Anwar Ibrahim in my letter to Malaysiakini 2.5 years after this post, wakakaka - read Malaysiakini's Dalai Lama shakes hands, Anwar Ibrahim dances

As my friend and co-chair in PABS, Susan said: “you can’t imagine that someone can champion a cause for the sake of truth and justice and do not need to be paid a single cent. Some people also do it for fun …”

Defending yourself against these typical responses would be like the labours of the Greek legend of Sisyphus.

Sisyphus offended the God Zeus, not a de facto one ;-) so Zeus punished him by making him roll a boulder up a hill. Each time when he reached the top of the hill, the boulder would roll down to the bottom, and he was forced to start all over again. Last heard he was still doing it.

So, no matter how much you attempt to explain, like Sisyphus you can’t win.

Hmmm, I wonder whether Sisyphus was the one who worked out that he was struggling against a force equal to WsinƟ, where W was the weight of the boulder, and Ɵ the incline of the slope. Afterall he (1) did have plenty of time on his hands and nothing to do with his mind (other than to curse Zeus) to work that out, and (2) being Greek he would have used Ɵ.

where Ɵ = 30

The formula was to plague me in my school days where following each encounter I would rub my bottom from the thrashing by the maths teacher while cursing the Greek letter Ɵ and the sine function. But then I didn’t realize that in years to come, in my blogging I would learn not to be like Sisyphus or be bothered with WsinƟ. I would follow Edward de Bono’s advice to step aside laterally, and allow the damn boulder to roll down the hill, and to hell with Zeus.

What about the last ‘S’ of my title Shariibuu-Altantuyaa, Susan Loone, Scumbags, Sisyphus and Sex?

Well, if I didn’t add that, would you have come read my post? ;-)

  1. Didn't fool me. Yours is a sexless blog. I only read your posts for the 'political' entertainment. A good one for Susan though.

  2. Two men have been convicted of Altantuya's murder.

    The case is closed.

Only the political scumbags PKR and DAP insist on adding to the tragedy by falsely prolonging the issue.

  3. Two men have been convicted of Altantuya's murder. Why they killed?

so tell us where is a ood location. Another run around.

Polis are busy catching speeding car and helmetless riders.

  4. Two men have been convicted.Who are they.Have you seen their faces.Do they look like your neighbours next door.Or do they look like Saiful's asshole.Poorah.

  5. Tanah Melayu,you are a clown,a circus clown.Go fly kites you creature.You are a batang sucking asshole.

  6. Like the King of Siam exclaimed "But is a Puzzlement"!

Up til today, nobody in public knows what the 2 convicted murderers looked like.

    Where's the Motive ?

"The two policemen, Azilah Hadri and Sirul Azhar, who killed Altantuya have been convicted and are on death row, but no motive has been provided for their act. It was a most curious conviction, for killers usually have some motive."

Yes, it is getting curiouser and curiouser.

"The chilling revelation made by Sirul in the aftermath of the killing - said Sirul - “When the Chinese woman saw that I was taking a gun, she begged me to spare her, saying she was pregnant. Azilah (the commanding officer of Sirul) grabbed her and [threw] her on the ground. I immediately shot the left side of her face. Then Azilah took off her clothes and put them in a black plastic bag. Azilah noticed that her hand was still moving. He ordered me to shoot again, which I
    did”, said Sirul.
“Then we carried her body into the woods. Azilah wrapped the explosives around her legs, her abdomen and her head, and we exploded her."

Sirul said 'the Chinese woman', not even knowing he had killed a Mongolian woman.

The 2 killers allegedly claimed they were acting on instructions and were paid RM100,000 to carry out the assasination. But Razak Baginda was acquited and found not guilty. So who then gave the instructions and who paid these 2 to bomb the Mongolian woman ?

    Curiouser and curiouser.

And who's baby was Altantuyaa carrying then before she was blown to smithereen ?

    Oh, it is a puzzlement.

  7. It sure is a puzzlement. But is is definitely a Razak offspring.Either from Najib Razak or Razak Baginda.

  8. It is stupid minded people like Tanah Melayu who only reads Utusan Malaysia thinks that the case has ended with the conviction of these two chaps used as scapegoats. Even a kid know it was a covered up case to protect some VVIP but this stupid guy still cannot see.

  9. Kakak Bolas said...

Sirul and Azilah are not anonymous or faceless.
The case was conducted in an open court.
Anyone who attended any of the sessions during their long trial saw their faces.

They only covered up their faces when they left the courtroom until they entered the lockup van, which they are allowed to do so.

  10. This Tanah Melayu guy is revealing to the whole world what a simple minded chap he was. If this murder was committed by you or me probably we may still be in the lock-up beaten until you don't know who your father is but if it involved some VVIP do you expect to see justice? All simple leads like immigration records etc are still unanswered until today. Wait till something tragic happens unfairly to a member of your family only then you know what we're talking about.

  11. Tanah Malayu, please balik kampong and tanam jagong. You are such an stupid ignorant big mouth with kerbau brains. So stupid and dumd. And a clown of the three stooges calibre.Haw haw haw is donkey laughing at you,MORON.

  12. See the difference between my level-headed comments in Queen's English, and the atrocious, badly written , brainless comments above....

    I rest my case.

  13. 12:29 PM, April 13, 2012

Tanah Melayu says "I rest my case."

Very much better if you also R.I.P. with the earth and the grass and the trees and the birds singing happily over your final resting peace. The country will be much better off without scumbags such as you.
    Ah Min (Chinese for Amen)

  14. Haha, this Tanah Melayu chap boasting about his usage of Queen's English as a defense when he cannot counter the comments that were hurled at him. Stupid, we may be using Donkey's English but we're not blind like you. At least we can see what is white and what is black. Please RIP.

  15. "we ARE using Donkey's English

    I fully agree...

What else can you expect from a SRJK(C) ghetto education ?

  16. There has been absolutely NO evidence made available of any involvement by Najib in Altantuya's murder.

The scumbags in PKR and DAP have had 5 years to dredge up the proof, and they have failed to do so.
Only fools will keep insisting something is true when they can't bring any in any evidence to support it.

  17. This guy is boasting about his education now but what a waste of $$$$ for the parents if it resulted in bringing out someone with this kind of mentality who can't even see what is black and white. It is with blind support of this kind of idiots that the VVIP are becoming bolder and bolder in milking the country dry.

  18. Haha, this idiot is talking about "no evidence" to convict when there were tons of leads for the relevant authorities to act upon. Please go check the dictionary to see the meaning of "cover-up". I think I better spend my time enjoying my teh tarik at my favorite mamak shop instead of arguing with an idiot.

  19. Psst..guys ! Actually Tanah Melayu lembu tu dah tau what's what in this Altantuyaa's murder case and other such countless shenanigans in this tanah 'suci' kita ni.

But what choice does he has ? He knows which side of his bread is buttered and being typical of this ilk, even black is white to him lah. Deep inside him, he knows the truth and has uneasy suspicions...but mesti cakap besar lah. He knows who gave people like him the tongkat and now the wheelchair, without which how is he to go places ? Mati mati pun he must support the corrupt Ketuanan robbers now having the upper hand. His biggest fear is the PR coming into power....habis lah all these leaches like him.

But even then, masih ada hope....great twisters they are lah.. all these type. They will change colour and will hop over to the winning side, that's their trademark, and this time, they will change their tune and sing a totally different song.

  20. Tanah Melayu,

One critical aspect of the case - that of the two special duty policemen being found guilty of the murder - has no logical explanation in many people's minds.

These two officers did not know the victim earlier on. They had no connections nor any personal dealings with her. So the question is: why would they want to kill her?

Until there is an acceptable answer to that question it will be like a festering sore that will never heal.

  21. Tahah Melayu,tanah apa lah.You sangat bodoh lah.Tak guna otak hang fikir,eh.Dek,dek apa macham ini,jadi oragg dunggu.Selalu tiap2 hari makan telor,yeh?Pakai otak sikit,fikir sikit boleh yah.Stupid moron.

  22. Tanah Melayu,

you speaking Queen's English, yeh.First of all I would like to ask you if you know what Queen's English is all about? It definitely is not about donkeys laughing, you know.Haw haw haw.

  23. Kakak Bolas,
You, who obviously cannot string together even one single grammatically correct and coherent sentence in English, are not worth debating with.

  24. SIGHS : tanah melayu = tanah me-layu = tidak segar, kering + kecut & withering land !!
