KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 16 — The Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) is reviewing the full investigation report submitted by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) involving former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Attorney General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar said the report contained numerous documents and pieces of evidence that needed to be examined carefully.

“The process may take some time, and there may also be a need for further investigations,” he told Berita Harian yesterday.

He was responding to questions on the latest developments in Ismail Sabri’s case.

On September 9, MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said nearly RM170 million in cash seized by the agency and believed to belong to Ismail Sabri had been officially forfeited to the government and deposited into its account.

Azam said the move followed Ismail Sabri’s decision not to contest the prosecution’s forfeiture application.

Separately, Mohd Dusuki said investigations into Datuk Seri Muhammad Adlan Berhan, the son-in-law of former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, had been completed.

“The investigation into Muhyiddin’s son-in-law has been completed, and instructions for prosecution have been issued,” he said, as cited by the national daily.

Muhammad Adlan is believed to be in the Middle East, with efforts to locate him still ongoing.

In October 2023, then Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain confirmed that a red notice application for Muhammad Adlan and another individual, Mansoor, had been submitted to Interpol at MACC’s request to determine their whereabouts.
