A temptation from a certain angle far, far away

From Malaysiakini:

PKR senator moots law to protect men from being seduced into raping women

PKR senator Mohd Imran Abd Hamid has proposed the enactment of a sexual harassment law to protect men from being seduced into committing crimes such as rape.
"I propose a Sexual Harassment Act to protect men from the actions, words and clothing of women, which can cause men to be seduced to the point they can commit acts such as incest, rape, molestation, (watching) pornography and likewise.
"This is important, we (men) need to be protected. The actions, clothing of women can seduce us into breaking the law and causing us to be charged (with a crime).
"I ask that the minister consider this so that the men in this country are safe, and the country is peaceful," the retired Navy admiral told the Dewan Negara today.
Senate Deputy President Abd Halim Abd Samad responded by saying this was a "good viewpoint."
Mohd Imran addressed his proposal to Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Mujahid Yusof Rawa, who is in charge of Islamic affairs.
The PKR senator was debating the Syarie Legal Profession (Federal Territories) Bill 2019 - which was passed in the Dewan Rakyat on July 15.
Mujahid did not respond to Imran when wrapping up the debate.
A sexual harassment law has been in the pipeline for years, but this is the first time the issue has been spun in such a way.

OUT - above dress worn by a 12-year old schoolgirl

The unnamed chess tournament directer deemed above dress of 12-year-old schoolgirl as “seductive” and “a temptation from a certain angle far, far away”.

By the by, is there a shrink somewhere?

IN? perhaps to be proposed by tournament director?

Otai Reformis: Possible Azmin Ali has numbers to be 8th PM

From Malaysiakini:

Reformasi veterans calculate: 15+26+40+18+19 = Azmin as PM

A group of Reformasi veterans, who call themselves Otai Reformis 1998, have explored the possibility of Azmin Ali possessing sufficient numbers, with the support of Umno and PAS, to become the next prime minister.
Though describing it as an “impossible theory” and expressing confidence that Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad would not give his blessings for such efforts, the group's secretary Abdul Razak Ismail, however, included a caveat.
According to him, “anything is possible” in the current political climate.
Otai Reformis' number crunching comes in the wake of Azmin, who is also economic affairs minister and PKR deputy president, backing the proposal from Umno and PAS for Mahathir to remain as prime minister until the end of his term.
“Azmin's action... has ignited a fierce polemic which is heatedly discussed based on several conspiracy theories by political analysts that it would thwart (PKR president) Anwar (Ibrahim's) chance of becoming the eighth PM in the next year as promised,” said Abdul Razak.

He said if Azmin (above) quits PKR with 15MPs who are loyal to him, and based on the assumption that all of Bersatu's 26 MP back him, this would give him an estimated 41 seats.
“Whereas Umno and BN have 40 seats and PAS has 18 seats. If they cooperate, it is possible the total would be 41+40+18 = 99 parliament seats.
“But this is not sufficient for a 'simple majority' to form the government, which requires at least 112 seats,” he added.
However, Abdul Razak said this is where the alliance of Sarawak-based parties (GPS or Gabungang Parti Sarawak) could tilt the balance of power in Azmin's favour.
“If GPS which has 19 parliaments seats also supports Azmin, the majority would be 19+99=118 seats and this would allow the formation of a new government,” he added.
On the same note, Abdul Razak believes that Mahathir would not be as naive to lend his support for such a move.
“I feel that Mahathir... would not be as naive to bless such a plan which would threaten his political career just to save Azmin's political career,” he added.
As for the other parties, PKR has 50 parliament seats at present, DAP (42), Amanah (11), Warisan (9), Upko (1).
Ties between Azmin and Anwar has been strained for a long time. This escalated following the circulation of a sex video implicating the former.
The video is said to be related to the tussle over the prime minister's post following the speculation that Mahathir prefers Azmin to succeed him despite an earlier agreement to hand over the baton to Anwar.

What a vindictive Mamak

Yesterday I posted Mahathir - vindictive, vengeful & venomous to the last drop in which I quoted a FMT report which informed us: Najib absent from king’s installation over seating confusion?

Guests at the installation of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong at Istana Negara today

Bernama pic

PETALING JAYA: Former prime minister Najib Razak did not attend the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s installation ceremony todayfollowing confusion over seating arrangements.

Earlier, a Facebook user from Terengganu had claimed that Najib’s seat was changed as another individual allegedly did not want to be seated near the Pekan MP.

Abdul Rahim Hilmi Zakariya said the protocol by the palace dictates that Najib be seated four chairs away from Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Rahim said the alleged attempt to change the seating arrangements was disrespectful and reeked of arrogance.

“It is unstatesmanlike,” he wrote on Facebook.

He went on to claim that Najib was moved to another seat reserved for the “Orang Besar Pahang”.

Wakakaka, today I read MM Online's Najib says absent from Agong’s installation because seat swapped at last minute.

Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad (centre) is pictured at Istana Negara during Sultan Abdullah’s installation as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong July 30, 2019

Extracts say:

KUALA LUMPUR, July 31 — Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak asserted today that his absence from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s installation yesterday was because his seating position was changed early in the morning.

He wrote on Facebook to say he was called at 6.30am and informed he would not be sitting in his previously assigned position as a former PM but would instead with the Pahang nobility.

“The ceremonial costume for Pahang nobles and that of former PMs are different. Each position has its protocol.

“By then there was no time to gather the clothes from Pekan,” he said.

Najib’s former special officer Isham Jalil alleged in a news report today that Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad forced the change by threatening to boycott the event if Najib was seated near him.

According to Utusan Malaysia, Isham claimed Dr Mahathir was jealous of Najib’s popularity and wanted to prevent the ex-PM from attending.

Separately, the Prime Minister’s Office denied any involvement in the change, saying the matter was entirely decided by Istana Negara’s protocol division.

Wakakaka again, such a low class mean-spirited Mamak - a real pariah, Podah.

Anwar Ibrahim may finally be different

From MySinChew.com

Will Anwar take a different path?

By TAY TIAN YAN

The erstwhile opposition leaders who were critical about Mahathir in the past, have become our cabinet ministers waxing lyrical about their beloved prime minister today. At least, by comparison, Anwar Ibrahim is more of a man of principle

When the Pakatan Harapan government led by Mahathir was singing in chorus the tune of racism, Anwar hummed a different tune.

In a recent statement made in the Parliament, Anwar said the new government could no longer continue with the 61-year-old race-based policies.

He said the government's future polices must no longer be established upon the foundation of race, but should be more accommodating in a bid to make Malaysia a more equitable nation for all races.

If PH were still an opposition alliance, such a remark could hardly be surprising at all, especially if made at a non-bumi convention.

Now that PH is seated in Putrajaya, this kind of discourse is an absolute rarity.

The much more commonplace are things like:

1. Mahathir said most Chinese Malaysians were loaded, and as such the government's economic policy would be steered towards continuously helping the Malays.

The Malays also deserved more scholarships as Chinese were mostly businessmen who could make a lot of money.

2. Economic affairs minister Azmin Ali said the PH administration must not be hesitant in pushing through its bumi agenda and should not feel apologetic at all so that PH could become the choice party for bumiputras (March 3, 2019).

Sounds like Perkasa's Ibrahim Ali, right?

3. Education minister Maszlee Malik said the government must keep the bumi quota because when the bumis were applying for jobs, they would be turned down by their prospective employers for not being able to speak Mandarin.

He also said we should start talking about the quota issue only after such discrimination was eliminated. (May 17, 2019).

“Private colleges are for the Chinese, because they can afford the fees.”

The 90:10 matriculation quota remains, but bumi students will have 13,500 more places vis-à-vis 1,500 for non-bumis.

Mahathir's ultimate objective is still a grand unity plan for the Malays. He welcomes Umno and PAS to join his PPBM to reinforce the Malay political power.

As for national unity, competitiveness and the vision for the country, they are buried deep after the general elections.

When Malay nationalism and Malay unity are the mainstay in Malaysian politics, Anwar begs to differ, uttering a sober-sounding set of governing principles. But, will Malaysians believe him? Is there any hidden agenda behind such a move? Can we look forward to a New Malaysia under him?

Firstly I'm not here to pour cold water. To be very honest, singing a different tune from the prime minister would require a great deal of courage and some principles.

Lest we forget, the erstwhile opposition leaders who were critical about Dr Mahathir in the past, have become our cabinet ministers who are waxing lyrical about their beloved prime minister today in a way his past deeds and talks appear to have been wholly forgiven or forgotten.

At least, by comparison, Anwar Ibrahim is more of a man of principle.

Secondly, with racism taking the centerstage today, Anwar has pointed out a different direction, that monoracialism is not the only path this country can take. There is another path that works better for all Malaysians and the country's development in future.

As the leader of a multiracial party and possible future prime minister, indeed Anwar can lead the country down this road.

Thirdly, Malaysia is in dire need of a leader with universal values, one who can at least tell the right from the wrong, and white from the black.

However, that does not mean we can unreservedly accept Anwar, as he is after all just another politician. While we look to him for something big, we still need to watch his moves.

PM, AG & IGP failing duties on gay sex saga

From Malaysiakini:

More than enough time has passed for sex video investigation - Hassan Karim

Pasir Gudang MP Hassan Karim (photo, above) has called on the prime minister, attorney general and IGP to show the world that the rule of law will be applied justly and swiftly in the case of the sex video which allegedly implicated Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali.
“More than enough time has passed for the police to complete its Investigation Paper and submit it to the Public Prosecutor to initiate the prosecution. One does not need to be a lawyer or legal expert to see that the ball is now in the court of the IGP Abdul Hamid Bador and the Attorney-General Tommy Thomas," he said in a statement today.
Hassan, who recently resigned as Johor PKR chief, also urged Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad to "carry out his duties accordance with the principles of the rule of law and the Federal Constitution of Malaysia."
"Several arrests for investigative purposes under the Criminal Procedure Code have been made by the police," he said while citing the confession video made by former political aide Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz.
"A very important witness has confession without force and made a voluntary admission that he is one of the perpetrators,' he added.
"If the IGP and the Attorney-General fail to carry out their work on the matter of the sexually explicit video then they both have committed a serious offence under the law," he claimed.
"Prove to all Malaysians and the international community that you are indeed carrying out your duty in defending the Federal Constitution of Malaysia and daring to uphold the rule of law," said Hassan.

Mystery of Missing Videos, Wakakaka

From FMT:

CCTV footage submitted to authorities, Sandakan hotel insists

The Four Points hotel in Sandakan, Sabah, which is at the centre of the gay sex video controversy.
PETALING JAYA: The hotel at the centre of the gay sex video controversy linked to Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali maintains that it submitted all necessary CCTV footage to the authorities, following claims that material from the security cameras outside the room where the alleged tryst took place had been deleted.
“We are aware of recent reports about the incident involving Haziq Aziz and Azmin Ali,” a spokesman for the Four Points hotel in Sandakan, Sabah, told FMT.
“We can confirm that we have been cooperating with the relevant authorities and have submitted all relevant hotel security CCTV footage to the relevant Malaysian authorities as requested on June 14, 2019.”
The spokesman said any further queries should be directed at Bukit Aman.
Last week, PKR’s Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak who was detained with former Santubong Youth chief Haziq and several others maintained his claim of a conspiracy in his arrest.
He said during his eight-day custody under police remand in connection to the distribution of clips from the video, he was asked a series of “unrelated questions”.
“When I asked them about the CCTV footage at Four Points, which would clearly show whether the two accused entered the same room, police said the footage had been deleted,” the Perak PKR chief said.
The video clip, purportedly taken from CCTV footage at the hotel, was uploaded to YouTube early this month. It shows individuals resembling Azmin, Haziq and Azmin’s political secretary, Hilman Idham, passing through what appears to be a hotel corridor.
Four Points said at the time that it was aware of the video.
Haziq had named the hotel as the venue at which the tryst allegedly took place. He also claimed the other man seen in various clips that have gone viral was Azmin.
The PKR deputy president has strongly denied the claim and has threatened to take legal action.

Mahathir - vindictive, vengeful & venomous to the last drop

From Blogger Another Brick in the Wall:

Mahathir's manouver for Najib not to attend coronation

Daulat Tuanku!

Despite hue and cry over resistance by a Chinese printing company to give workers off day, all plans for the official installation of the new Seri Paduka Baginda Yang DiPertuan Agong went according to schedule and ran smoothly.

All the seatings were in place last night according to Tuanku Abdullah wishes to be done in accordance with gazetted protocol.

The front row should be meant for Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir and wife, seated next is the Deputy Prime Minister and husband, Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim and followed by former Prime Minister Dato Seri Najib and wife, Datin Seri Rosmah.

Sources claimed there was a bit of commotion when a member of the royal family checked at night to find someone pulled a fast one to place Najib's seat in the back row.

protocol for sitting list

Palace was not pleased and insisted they are above politics. The seat should be arranged in accordance with the government gazetted protocol.

Seats were rearranged accordingly and it was left untouched till around 7 AM this morning when PMO official came in.

The officer requested Najib's seat be moved and placed in the Orang Besar Pahang row. As Dato Shahbandar of Pahang, Najib could be placed there.

However, he will be required to wear the ceremonial clothing of Dato Shahbandar. Time is too short to do as Najib has to be at the Istana Besar by 8.30 AM.

The person usually assist him in putting on the elaborate ceremonial samping had to brought over from Pekan. The common folks may not appreciate it, but in the royal court etiquette, Najib is expected to respect and adhere to the dress code.

The palace refused to compromised on the protocol and succumbed to a last minute stunt by Mahathir to disrespectfully get his way with the sovereign.

According to the source, the PMO official threatened that Mahathir will not attend this important leg of the installation program should he be seated with Najib within his vicinity.

It is either his vengeance towards Najib has not abated or he is too embarrassed to face Najib whose SRC case has yet to legally prove he committed anything wrong.

Mahathir knows that his whole PH government will collapse should he interfere and "force" the court to imprison Najib for abuse of power.

Vengeful?

Facebooker saw Mahathir was visibly annoyed

There is the possibility that Mahathir could be most uncomfortable to face two of his current political victims - Anwar and Najib - all at the same time.

The guilty conscience, if he has one, could be unbearable.

The only possible end to the impasse if for Najib to not attend. The gentleman he is Najib mengalah (Malay for gave in).

However, it will not be the last from the keling mamak son of a Kerala Mayali. One will expect his media officer and propaganda team to pre-empt and hurl Najib with insults for disrespecting the Agong by his non-attendance.

The Ratu Nagas and Parpukaris will accuse Najib as coward to face up to Mahathir. Will not be surprise Mahathir himself will pass some snide remarks.

However, it is only expected of a Prime Minister under pressure, who kept going abroad, wasting RM14 million taxpayers' money, and not brought back anything but words, sales of assets and more debts.

Mahathir is in a quarrelsome mode and is in an open quarrel with Najib, Anwar, Lim Guan Eng, and Muhyiddin. It would not be a surprise if anyone speculate he is even quarrelling with his sons.

Kerbau lah. What a mean hearted man who shows us his vengeful behaviour towards Najib. Maybe there is some truth in allegations that he OVER-fixes Najib up.

his attitude towards Anwar

same same his attitude towards Najib

Chye-Chye's Sword of Damocles impedes Anwar's ascendancy

Reading Malaysia-Today's Why Is DAP Not Helping Anwar? in the the alleged Azmin-Haziq Semburit gay porn video, when Lim Kit Siang is usually a loudmouth, and who even wanted to tease Ahmad Zahid on inconsequential stuff (which I pointed out in a previous post titled
Kit Siang Pandai Cakap Ayam Saje), I thought to myself, 'Ya, aneh 'kan? YB Kit Siang ialah seorang yang biasanya sangat bising terhadap isu politik, maka kenapa ia bagitu diam pula tentang cerita semburit itu?'.

for more than 35 years Lim KS raved and ranted about the illustrated topics and more

now he doesn't say anything about any of those topics

Not that I swallow everything from/by RPK hook, line and sinker (much as I have been accused of, wakakaka), I have to say this time on why the DAP has been deafeningly silent on the scandalous Semburit saga, I need to probe a bit more (I love this contemporary vogue word, ie, 'PROBE', wakakaka).

It seems, according to Malaysia-Today's post, Mahathir might have used Latheefa Beebi Koya to hang the 'Sword of Damocles' above Chye-Chye-s head, wakakaka, possibly vis-a-vis a case of a bungalow.

For those of you who haven't heard of the 'Sword of Damocles', I substitute in its place a quotation from William Shakespeare's 'Henry IV', to wit, 'Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown'.

Thus Papa and Chye-Chye have been very silent, wakakaka.

Chye, don't look up - just focus on your Sudoku

Now, you can't expect impatient Anwar to lie down quietly. Extracts of that Malaysia-Today's post tell us:

Anwar asked Wan Azizah to meet Mahathir and to tell the old man she is prepared to resign to make way for her husband to take over as the new Deputy Prime Minister.

Mahathir replied she can resign if she wants to but there is no guarantee Anwar will be taking over her post. Wan Azizah should resign first then Mahathir will think about who should take over.

This made Anwar even angrier. He wants Wan Azizah’s resignation to be conditional upon him taking over as DPM. If Wan Azizah resigns unconditionally, that would be too risky. And that would mean someone else will replace Wan Azizah as the new DPM.

If true, then Mahathir has shown his hands (which we knew ages ago) that he won't hand over to Anwar.

Indeed, why is Mahathir afraid of Anwar becoming the DPM which I thought would be natural, to resume an old political partnership for the betterment and muhibbah of Pakatan.

But I ask a rhetorical question because Mahathir's reason for not accepting Anwar even as DPM has been revealed in an above paragraph, to wit, the Old Man has no eff-ing intention to hand over the PM position to Anwar.

PSM Arutchelvan: Azmin Ali using PAS to gain influence again?

From Malaysiakini:

PAS to be kingmaker amid Harapan infighting - PSM leader

Amid infighting amongst Pakatan Harapan leaders, PSM deputy chairperson S Arutchelvan said he is convinced PAS would become the kingmaker in Malaysian politics.
He said he has become convinced of this after Economic Affairs Minister Azmin Ali issued a statement this morning welcoming PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang’s statement calling for Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad to serve his full five-year term
“It seems that PAS can chart the path of Malaysian politics because Harapan doesn’t seem to be able to cooperate effectively. Harapan component parties are busy fighting each other instead of focusing on issues faced by the rakyat.
“It has been said that if you have friends like those in Harapan, you don’t need enemies.
“This can be seen in the drama of how the number one and number two people in the largest ruling party, PKR, are fighting to unseat each other,” Arutchelvan said in a Facebook post today.
He noted that Azmin (below) is losing influence in Harapan and part of PKR as a potential pick to be the future prime minister, and now appears to be comfortable in using PAS to gain influence.

Azmin’s statement this morning shows he can ride on PAS and Umno’s support by capitalising on the two party’s agenda of uniting Malays and Muslims, which is the demographic group where Harapan is losing support.
At the same time, Umno has thrown its lot with PAS instead of Bersatu, and had thus rejected Bersatu chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s call to unite Malay parties by joining his party, said Arutchelvan.
“Umno sees PAS as their ally and main partner in their mission to regain power in the 15th general election.
“This can be seen in several recent by-elections when both parties stood together as a team,” he added.
PAS had also proven its ability to mobilise large numbers of supporters during the protest against the government’s ratification of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (Icerd) on Dec 8 last year.
The same capacity to mobilise had also been used by the electoral watchdog Bersih to organise protests pressuring the then-ruling BN coalition to commit to holding free and fair elections, Arutchelvan said.
As for MCA and MIC, he said MCA sees the need to remain in BN to act as a check against PAS’ influence, while MIC has taken the position that PAS is not as radical as portrayed.

Mahathir, the Man who's never ever wrong

Extracts from MM Online:

Dr M says not being contradictory over PKR sex video scandal

Mahathir denies taking contradictory stands over sex allegations affecting a past and a current member of his Cabinet

KUALA LUMPUR, July 28 — Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has shot down claims of having contradictory stands over sex allegations affecting a past and a current member of his Cabinet .

He touched on this matter in an article posted on his blogsite, Chedet. Titled Contradiction, it reads:

"1. have been accused of contradicting my own stand in my response towards alleged sexual improprieties affecting a member of my Cabinet in 1998 and the on-going sex video issue linking another member of my current Cabinet.

2. There is no contradiction.

3. The action taken in 1998 was not based on the video clip. That came later. The court had already made its decision. The subsequent videos did not influence the court or anyone else. It did not influence me.

Note Mahathir's statement that
The court had already made its decision.

Let's now have a look at some extracts from Malaysia-Today, as follows:Mahathir’s statement is full of errors and yet he says there is no contradiction.

In 1998, action was taken against Anwar Ibrahim even before he was arrested, charged or convicted.

So, it is not true that “the court had already made its decision.” And there was no video, as Mahathir claims, “that came later”.

... back in 2004, Mahathir said in an interview in Japan that he sacked Anwar because his number two was plotting behind his back. Mahathir never mentioned the sodomy case. Instead, Mahathir related how Anwar was trying to oust him and hence had to be sacked.

Kaytee remembers that, so I agree it's true that before Sodomy I, Anwar Ibrahim was expelled from UMNO on some iffy 'corruption' charges.

Earlier at an UMNO assembly Anwar, who was already anointed to take over from Mahathir, had upset the Old Man by his impatient infantile attempt to coerce Mahathir into even-earlier retirement on allegations of corruption, nepotism and cronyism at an UMNO assembly - he used Ahmad Zahid as his stalking horse to lay those allegations.

But alas for Anwar, the Old Man or Old Fox turned the table on DSAI, and to cut the story short, poor Anwar was expelled from UMNO, charged with corruption(???) - wakakaka, for an UMNO leader to be charged with corruption must have meant he was a real 'black sheep' to the party - and jailed.

T'was only subsequently he was additionally accused of sodomy, whence then the operatic saga of Sodomy I eventuated.

Back to extracts of Malaysia-Today:

So, the reason Mahathir acted against Anwar was NOT because of sodomy if you go by what Mahathir said in his interview in Japan in 2004. And even if it was, that action took place three weeks BEFORE Anwar was arrested. And Anwar was arrested not for the crime of sodomy but because he was a “threat to national security.” The sodomy allegation came later when they needed an excuse to keep Anwar in jail.

RPK wrote that: Mahathir should have just kept quiet and said nothing. Mahathir’s statement today has utterly destroyed whatever little credibility there is left and convinces people even more that he is going out of this way to protect Azmin Ali. If anyone thought earlier that there is no cover up, today’s statement confirms that there is.

Yes, if there is one thing the Old Man cannot do, it's to keep quiet. He was, has been and is immensely a pompous and proud Old Man though he might have provided a different image to many - but yes sir, he must speak out to 'prove' he was not wrong, never ever wrong and always right.

he's never ever wrong

He did exactly just that in 1969, telling the Chinese voters in Alor Setar (constituency of Kota Setar Selatan) he did NOT need their lousy Chinese votes.

So the Chinese kuai kuai gave all their votes in the May 1969 general elections to PMIP Yusof Rawa. PMIP (Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party) was the earlier name of PAS.

Pak Haji Yusof Rawa

President of PMIP

bet he was shocked by his victory in a Chinese-dominant area

Yes sir, in May 1969 the Chinese who had always stayed clear of PMIP, voted for the first time for an Islamic Party candidate, and in massive numbers too. Mahathir lost that election - lots of padan muka plus yamseng-ing rang out that night, wakakaka.

I also bet that (needless to say) Mahathir hated the Chinese even more from that day. He liked/likes to blame others so he blamed the Tunku for pampering the Chinese.

A few days after his loss, May 13 occurred with the worst bloody race riots and deaths of innocence and children. He reportedly wrote a letter to Tunku Abdul Rahman to blame the then-PM for the country’s darkest moment in history and asking him to step down as PM and UMNO president.
