Suitable choice for a Harapan future PM

Malaysiakini (extracts):

Mat Sabu: Muhyiddin and gang will find it tough to face the rakyat

by Haspaizi Zain

Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and his cohorts in the new Perikatan Nasional government are not going to find it easy to face the people given how his administration was formed, said Amanah president Mohamad Sabu.

As defence minister in the outgoing Pakatan Haparan government, Mohamad, or better known as Mat Sabu (photo), said he had received information about Muhyiddin's plans to establish a Malay-dominated cabinet.

"Harapan won the election but is now the Opposition, those who lost are now in control.

"This has never happened anywhere in the world except in my homeland of Malaysia," claimed Mat Sabu at a Harapan roadshow in Klang last night.

He said Muhyiddin and gang would not find it easy to face the rakyat that has been "awakened" by what has happened.

"We are not happy that the government was stolen halfway through its term. If we were not good, why not wait five years?"

Also present were PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and DAP National Organising secretary Anthony Loke.

Mat Sabu added that Harapan would use the constitution and seek legal redress in its attempt to restore the government formed at the ballot box in May 2018.

Mat Sabu is spot on. Instead of moaning, complaining (raving, ranting and raging) and 'blaming' everyone, he talks coolly that Harapan would use the Constitution and seek legal redress over the collapse of the Harapan government and the consequential parliamentary coup d'etat, all initiated by Mahathir's deliberate abrupt resignation, maliciously without handing over power to Anwar Ibrahim.

He has also mentioned:
When you are a minister, you have to make sure you have the facts. Now we can start to attack.

Succinct.

And his Parti Amanah (PAN) has been praised for its loyalty to Pakatan Harapan, unlike Mahathir's froggy selfish power-crazy Parti PRIBUMI.

Let's not forget that Mahathir's intention has all along been to absorb as many UMNO frogs as possible into his Parti PRIBUMI to resurrect his old UMNO Baru (II) into an enlarged PRIBUMI (UMNO III), and to remove DAP and non-Malay elements of Harapan.

For more, read my post based on an FMT's article by Dr Jeyakumar Devaraj (chairperson of Parti Sosialis Malaysia and former Sungai Siput MP) titled:

Mahathir intended to weaken Harapan to lose to Umno in GE15. where he stated (brief extracts):

So Mahathir, I think, was ambivalent about Harapan remaining in power for more than one term from the very start.

For him, Harapan represented the only way to remove the kleptocrats within Umno. He felt that Umno could not be reformed from within as those in power were too entrenched, so he needed to join up with DAP and PKR to cleanse Umno of the “crooks”.

But from the beginning, Mahathir felt that he could not depend on Harapan to safeguard and complete his lifetime project of creating and nurturing the Malay bourgeoise. [...]

It might also be the reason he promoted Azmin to become a federal minister – so as to weaken PKR by exacerbating the friction between Anwar and Azmin,
so that if Bersatu could not be bolstered up enough to play a defining role in Harapan, the weakened Harapan would lose to Umno (cleansed of the worst kleptocrats) in the 15th general election.

Treacherous from the onset to the end. And a stupid Lim Kit Siang fell for it.

But I like the elegant style and cool demeanour of Mat Sabu when under adversity. He stands as a very suitable choice for a Harapan's future PM.

  1. Old Man's pandai pandai lompat, terakhirnya pun jatuh ke tanah juga.

Main issue is that Madey refused to stand by his promise to hand over the reign to Anwar, much as people really do not have an idea what is Anwar's Malaysia will turn out to be...he is too IFFY due to his chameleon's character. Most likely Anwar will give in to the avalanche Malay voice clamoring for "back to those glorious days" meaning Ketuanan Rule. But whatever it is, a promise is a promise. And Old Man as usual refused to honor any promise made.

Re Jeyakumar Devaraj's promotion that ' Mahathir kept quiet on this issue, probably thinking to himself "Go ahead if you want to shoot yourself in the foot", the issue being that the fishermen's monthly RM 300 subsidy was cut off by Lim Guan Eng. Podah la this anal kind of analysis....read why the cabinet ( yes, this was discussed in cabinet ), agreed to stop the massive scam by the fishermen discovered by the PH gomen, which costs losses of RM 380 million annually :

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 2 — The government allegedly suffered a RM380-million loss last year from the misappropriation of subsidised fuel meant for some 100,000 fishermen, according to a news report today.
According to Utusan Malaysia, some of the fuel was allegedly sold to businesses instead of being channelled to the Fisheries Development Authority of Malaysia (LKIM) for distribution to fishermen as intended.

This caused Putrajaya’s fuel subsidy bill to rise to RM1.1 billion last year alone.

Citing anonymous sources, the newspaper reported that one of the tactics used was to sell the subsidised fuel to foreign fishermen at the state borders at market price.

This provided lucrative returns as the fishermen only had to pay RM1.65/L, while diesel is currently RM2.26/L.

“Apart from getting money, they would also get some of the catch from their ‘foreign counterparts’ as to not let the authorities in on what they were up to.

“They would then receive a 20 sen incentive for every kilogram of fish caught, which doubled their profits,” sources said.

The sources also revealed that some suppliers responsible for delivering subsidised fuel to LKIM jetties would stop for 30 minutes pretending to transfer their loads, when they were not.

They also said that some suppliers would work together with the fishermen to pool all the subsidised fuel, before selling the collection in neighbouring countries.

And true to being the favored anak boomiputeras in our fair land, these cuiprits were punished, or even shamed...just tutup both mata mata and in fact, PH was planning ways to replace the loss of subsidy to these "poor" fishermen.

When manure like this kind of writes by that Devaraj fella is spread around due to his own agenda, then more fool those who fall for it.

  2. According to the latest news from Malaysia Insight, AMANAH president Mohamad Sabu has revealed that Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin had urged him to ditch DAP so that they can form a new government.

Mohamad, better known as Mat Sabu, said the Pagoh MP approached him and said he had secured enough MPs to take over Putrajaya from Pakatan Harapan.

Hehehe...looks like MooMoo had several irons in the fire before the final one, the Hotel Sheraton one, succeeded taking him to Putrajaya. Who says perseverance don't pay off ? His "I am Malay first" did not quite appeal to Mat Sabu but there's plenty of takers from Sandakan Semburit and the usual suspects Umno and Pas, who are more likely " I am thief first ". LOL
