Mahathir Badmouthing Anwar Ibrahim again & again

LANGKAWI: PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim wanted to be the deputy prime minister when the Pakatan Harapan coalition decided to support Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as the nation’s eighth Prime Minister during the recent political upheaval.

After Pakatan had rescinded on the earlier proposition of nominating Anwar for the post of prime minister, the coalition of PKR, DAP and Parti Amanah Negara, and some segments of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), went back to Mahathir to seek his approval to nominate the 94-year-old instead.

It was during this encounter that Anwar had proposed his name as the deputy prime minister but Mahathir felt the timing was inappropriate.

why would Anwar wanting to be DPM be inappropriate, unless the Old Man hates him regardless

Mahathir, who revealed this, said Anwar was quite adamant in wanting the post but he decided to reject the request, preferring for his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail to continue as the deputy prime minister.

The reason was there was feedback from various quarters of their unhappiness with Anwar as a leader, Mahathir said when briefing the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Langkawi division at the Langkawi Lagoon Resort here.

Mahathir revealed that two prominent civil society leaders had met him to complain about Anwar’s apparent lack of administrative leadership skills.

“Anwar is more in tune with politicking rather than as an administrator,“ he said.

Whether true or not (and I'm inclined to believe it's NOT), the wickedness of this evil Old Man is flabbergasting. He still CONTINUES to badmouth Anwar Ibrahim, showing his grudge against (and indeed hatred towards) DSAI (and any/everyone not of his family) is invincible.

It's a humongous joke (if it has been funny) that his criticism against Anwar has been about Anwar's apparent lack of administrative leadership skills, when Anwar has been with him in his previous initial UMNO II government as Education and Finance Ministers, DPM and even acting PM.

Mahathir continues to show his sickening selfish mean side, lacking humility or contrition for his deliberate and malicious destruction of the Pakatan government through his willful resignation, just to deny Anwar a promise made among Pakatan leaders.

His fractious resignation must have been part of his wicked plan to weaken Pakatan Harapan so that UMNO will win in GE15 as he in reality detests his non-Malay 'so-called colleagues' in Harapan, realising and fearing they won't perpetuate his cronyism.

non-Malays are 'foreigners'

Dr Jeyakumar Devaraj of PSM related that Mahathir intended to weaken Harapan to lose to UMNO in GE15, brief selected extracts as follows:

So Mahathir, I think, was ambivalent about Harapan remaining in power for more than one term from the very start. [...]

... from the beginning, Mahathir felt that he could not depend on Harapan to safeguard and complete his lifetime project of creating and nurturing the Malay bourgeoise.

He needed to pass the government to a Malay-majority government which would be committed to continuing the “Malay Agenda”. This is why he brought in MPs from Umno to bolster Bersatu, and why he cosied up with Umno and PAS.

It might also be the reason he promoted Azmin to become a federal minister – so as to weaken PKR by exacerbating the friction between Anwar and Azmin, so that if Bersatu could not be bolstered up enough to play a defining role in Harapan, the weakened Harapan would lose to Umno in the 15th general election.

But his mean mafulat-ish mentality prevents him from ever accepting that it had been his personal errors that caused the collapse of Pakatan government and his own personal position as 7th PM.

  1. Bitter and disappointed man in 2020.

I have no doubt the Sheraton Conspiracy was with the knowledge and approval , tacit or overt, of Mahathir to block Anwar.

What Mahathir did not count on was him becoming collateral damage of his own conspiracy, losing the PM position in the process.

  2. In the end,the master chess player politician was checkmated by his knight in shinning armor.Who would have expected the master chess player politician to be "hentamed kaukau in the belakang" by Ms Semburit and Mr Moo?

  3. I have always maintained that MM is a man devoid of scruples.

In the long tussle with SG's LKY, he was bested through and through and he could not abide by that; thus his hatred for SG.

MM has never wanted to let Anwar to be PM8 and now that PH is no more in power, he (MM) will start to shoot arrows at Anwar..that is, until he (MM) needs PKR's support to be PM9.

The "good" thing is that even if MM is up to his nonsense, it would not be for long given his age

    1. Well put ! Two thumbs up. I wish this blog has up vote facility...

About Dr M " not be for long given his age ", it is indeed a relief but looking back, he had done so much damage to the country that it is incalculable. It is frightening how a single man can really bring such destruction and damage to millions.
