“You should still be enjoying your youth,” netizens chide 15-year-old bride-to-be

A SOCIAL media user recently gained attention online after her TikTok photo slideshow announcing her upcoming nuptials went viral.

Congratulatory messages aside, what had shocked netizens, however, was the fact that the girl is only 15-years-old!

A photo from the original poster’s slideshow of what seems to be a marriage application form was shared by another netizen on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption: “Marrying early is not a flex, kid, especially when you’re only 15-years-old”, leading to a discussion about underaged marriage in Malaysia.




Taking to the comments section, many netizens express concern for the 15-year-old bride-to-be over her decision with many also lamenting about the loss of her teenage years which should have been spent finishing her secondary education.













Several netizens also question if the 15-year-old would be able to generate an income, or if the happy couple would still be getting an allowance from their parents.









Meanwhile, a netizen reckoned that rather than blaming the youth for their decision to tie the knot, netizens should blame the parents for consenting the marriage in the first place.
