The Marang MP claimed that Malay unity government leaders failed to question a statement made by DAP MP Teresa Kok regarding the halal certification proposal.
This is despite Kok’s statement drawing brickbats from Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim saying her remarks were unnecessary and only complicated the issue.
Hadi also said Malay parties in the government should cut ties with non-Muslim leaders who question issues related to Islam.
Kok stirred controversy after opposing a proposal that halal certification be made mandatory for eateries that do not serve pork and alcohol.
The Seputeh MP had said the government should allow business operators to decide to apply for halal certification, based on market demand, rather than forcing them.
Her statement has led to an investigation by Bukit Aman, but Kok today said the controversy was simply due to a misunderstanding by various parties.

Step on the snake and kill it before this snake can inject its poison on the people. Don't be lulled into thinking that PAS is a moderate party - they are not. Their plan entails a 20- year time frame to solidify their position.
Better yet, get out of Malaysia altogether. Learn from how Singapore survived and prospered outside Malaysia.
