Perlis Mufti, Datuk Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin received threats via Whatsapp from a member of GISBH.
The threats came days after Asri himself, commonly known as Dr. Maza declared GISBH deviant, saying the teachings indoctrinated to its followers are nowhere near the Islamic teachings. In a media conference, Inspector-General Police (IGP), Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said that Dr. Maza received the threats around 8:56 AM when the latter was at his office in Kangar, Perlis.

The text also called Dr. Maza a Kafir Harbi (a non-believer who is against Muslims and can be opposed, to the extent that blood is spilt). Seeing that as a threat, Dr. Maza lodged a police report at the police station in Kangar.
Dr. Maza, however, did not respond to the texts, which IGP confirmed at the press conference.
“PDRM is conducting an investigation into the case of threats against the Mufti according to Section 506 of the Penal Code, which is the offense of making criminal threats.”
If convicted, he would be sentenced to prison for not more than two years or could be fined or both. The police have now stepped up efforts to track down the suspect who sent the criminal threat to the mufti.

Just recently, the authorities also received a threat from GISBH followers who told them to wait for retribution on Judgment Day.
