Warlords & their goons

Reading about the disgraceful disruption of the Apcet II conference in Kuala Lumpur by 400 UMNO hooligans, where the police arrested the conference participants rather than the rampaging thugs, would undoubtedly amaze other people, but not Malaysians. We are used to such uneven handed treatment by the Police.

Whether it’s the Police or Rela or god-knows-what other uniformed thugs, such misuses of power indicate the existence of warlords who feel they’re above the laws of Malaysia.

When the new PM was leading the BN in the 2004 general elections the MCA touted him as Bao Gong, the fearless incorruptible Chinese judge, a paragon of justice. Let the PM now show his worth and the trust the Malaysian people have in him – let him eliminate the warlords’ misuse of power. Let him explain why SUHAKAM, and not the police, has to be the one who investigate into the Rela recent thuggish brutalities, where several Rela personnel hammered mercilessly some Indian nationals who sought help from the Indian High Commission.

  1. Your source was from malaysiankini. Do you know if this reported in the mainstream papers at all?

.. that is, if you bother answering comments at all on this blog. In retrospection you rarely give a crap about offering courteous replies.

  4. Anonymous,

I was still a student when this thing happened. Today, I realised that not many people remembered this event or even realise that this event even occured, irregardles whether Malaysiakini report about it or not. The thing is, "Orang Malaysia Mudah Lupa."
