PETALING JAYA: PAS denied today that Razman Zakaria has been suspended as the party’s Perak chief, a little over a month after it was reported that he had been removed from the post.
PAS vice-president Idris Ahmad said Razman, who is also the Gunung Semanggol assemblyman and state opposition whip, remains the Perak PAS commissioner, The Star reported.
“The reports are not true, just being played up by certain media,” he was quoted saying.
Idris said Razman also continues to serve as the Perak Perikatan Nasional deputy chairman.
On March 1, Sinar Harian reported that PAS decided to suspend Razman over several issues, including his claim in February that DAP MP Hannah Yeoh was linked to the Yeoh family of the YTL Corporation Bhd conglomerate.
The daily also reported that his duties were temporarily being carried out by Idris. A source from Perak PAS said, however, that no official notice was received regarding the matter.
In December, Razman publicly apologised to Teluk Intan MP and federal minister Nga Kor Ming over a statement accusing him of being involved in a parade where some participants had waved the Chinese national flag.
