Summary
- DAP deputy national chairperson Nga Kor Ming has taken to X to counter the ‘DAP is anti-Malay’ claim with evidence.
- The Teluk Intan MP describes the allegation as ‘disgusting slander’.
DAP deputy national chairperson Nga Kor Ming, frequently targeted by critics accusing his party of being anti-Malay and anti-Islam, has sought to counter these claims by highlighting his contributions to his constituents.
Notably, he pointed to significant donations to Malay students and a mosque in Teluk Intan, Perak.
“Every day, DAP is falsely accused of being 'anti-Islam', but this noble party has always respected all religions, including Islam.
“Today, I am proudly donating RM72,000 to a mosque in the Teluk Intan parliamentary constituency. This noble practice has become our tradition, reflecting our continuous commitment to supporting the community, regardless of religious background. DAP for all,” he said on X.

In a separate statement regarding student contributions, the housing and local government minister once again refuted the baseless accusations against his party, calling them “disgusting slander”.
“I am proud to contribute RM150,000 to Malay students in the Teluk Intan parliamentary constituency. This act of generosity has become a long-standing tradition of DAP.
“Malaysia Madani belongs to all of us,” he added.
DAP longtime bogeyman
DAP’s secular state agenda and its “Malaysian Malaysia” slogan have often been used to stoke fears among the Malay-Muslim electorate - a tactic Umno itself employed in the past.
However, since forming an alliance after the last general election, Umno has been forced to go on the defensive, explaining that DAP is not a threat.

Last week, Umno’s Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said that DAP will not be able to amend the Federal Constitution involving the position of Islam and the Malays even if it has 148 seats in Parliament.
He emphasised that any constitutional amendment involving the position of Islam and the Malays - namely Articles 3 and 153 - requires the consent of the Conference of Rulers.
Asyraf mentioned this during an interview series titled “#2 Bongkar Fitnah Islam Terancam (exposing the slander of Islam threatened)” which was uploaded to his Facebook.
DAP leaders have also repeatedly pledged to respect the Federal Constitution with regard to the status of Islam and the Malays.
