
87 homes, premises suffer total loss in Putra Heights disaster

A total of 87 houses and premises involved in the recent gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya have been declared a “total loss”, said Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari.
Addressing a press conference today after chairing a meeting with the state’s disaster management committee, Amirudin said the identified lots were found to be completely uninhabitable due to damages sustained during the fire, which occurred on April 1.
“A total of 148 other homes suffered damages as well, but can be inhabited after undergoing repairs and improvement processes,” he said.

Hope their fire insurance is up to date, and includes underground explosions, as well as consequential loss e.g. cost of temporary accomodation for their family while the building is being repaired or rebuilt in the case of irreparable total loss..
