'Green with envy': PN picking on Penang due to state's success - rep
Pulau Tikus state assemblyperson Chris Lee Chun Kit has claimed that Perikatan Nasional (PN) is constantly picking on Penang due to the state administration’s success.
Lee said that the Kedah PN leadership led by Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor is green with envy with Penang’s success and had resorted to allegedly distorting facts in order to distract attention from its own failures.
“This is why the Kedah leadership led by PN wants to constantly question Penang's place in the federation. Our status as a state is already enshrined in the Federal Constitution and that is enough.
“If the Penang administration had been a failure, PN Kedah probably wouldn’t care less about us,” Lee (above) said in a statement today.
Previously, Sanusi had questioned the sovereignty of Penang by saying that the “state is leased from Kedah”.
In 2021, the PAS politician made similar allegations in the Kedah state legislative assembly.
Back then, The Vibes reported Sanusi telling the Kedah state assembly that he understood Penang’s concerns over several major projects announced by Kedah - which are thought to give Penang competition.

However, he said it should be remembered that “Penang was leased, and it should not interfere or criticise Kedah’s administrative matters”.
Lee deplored PN’s “toxic politics play” when it should act as a credible opposition to challenge the ruling government via policy-based debates just like in other democratic countries.
The DAP politician called on Penang folks to defend their state from the “toxic politics” of PN, urging them to return to vote during the looming state elections.
“Your votes matter in the next state elections; do not let PN take away all we have worked for.
“Five years can cause a lot of damage to Penang, especially under the control of a coalition like PN, which will spread its brand of toxic politics to the state. It will destroy everything.”
Lee’s statement came after an article by Free Malaysia Today quoted an analyst as saying that PN’s “green wave” of support would likely hand the opposition coalition most or even all of the Malay-centric seats.

Kedah's PN State Administration is in the pits.
ReplyDeletePenang's State Administration under Chow Kon Yeow is better than Kedah's, but only just because compared to a rock bottom.
Chow is a real Lembap Chief Minister. Anybody in Penang able to point to a concrete piece of progress under his watch , for the last 4 1/2 years ?
