PETALING JAYA: A former aide to Anwar Ibrahim has again questioned discrepancies in the recently concluded PKR polls, claiming that some votes went “missing”, especially in the race for the deputy presidency.
Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak said it had been reported that 147,000 PKR members had taken part in the party polls.
Rafizi Ramli garnered 68,992 votes, while Saifuddin Nasution Ismail managed to get 50,038 votes. This totalled only 119,030 votes, he said.
“This already raises some questions as to the whereabouts of some 27,970 votes. Even if you add up the total spoiled votes across the country, it still means more than 26,000 votes are missing,” he told FMT.

Farhash said this discrepancy was only in the votes for the deputy president’s post.
He said the party’s election committee, or JPP, had received more than 900 complaints and that the results of the vast majority of the 222 divisions were under protest.
“It is obvious the figures across the country just don’t tally.” According to unofficial results, Farhash lost in the contest for the post of Gombak division chief.
Farhash said JPP chairman Dr Zaliha Mustafa had stated that the calls for a forensic audit into the election mechanism was fair.
“That should provide answers,” he said.
Farhash said the party had to also engage an accredited cybersecurity firm to look into the system, programming and coding to identify loopholes. This, he said, would enable auditors to verify the results and the election processes.
“I am not trying to be a busy body, but we need to put things right to avoid such controversy in the future. As a party championing reform, we need to set the example of transparency.”
On Sunday, Farhash demanded that a forensic audit be carried out on the recent party polls, citing discrepancies between the number of ballots tallied and that of voters.
Farhash, who contested against Selangor PKR chief Amirudin Shari for the Gombak division chief’s post, also claimed the number of ballots cast did not correspond with the number of voters who had participated in the polls at the division.
