Tajuddin can join PAS at any time, says Takiyuddin

KAMPAR: Tajuddin Abdul Rahman of Umno can join PAS at any time to continue his political career, said PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan, following Tajuddin’s removal from the Umno leadership council.
“Anyone can join PAS (including Tajuddin). We can and will accept,” he told reporters here.
“In fact, in Kedah recently, about 12,000 new members were registered, including new voters. We will see the potential of support available,” he said.
Takiyuddin was commenting on an offer by Perak PAS for Tajuddin, who is MP for Pasir Salak, to contest the 15th general election on a PAS ticket.
When asked about using PAS’ own logo in GE15, Takiyuddin said no decision had been taken on the matter but it will be discussed at a meeting later on.
“Using your own party logo is not strange. We used the Barisan Nasional logo in 1974. We will decide on it when the time comes,” he said.
Tajuddin was removed as a member of Umno Supreme Council last week. In a letter which made the rounds on social media, Umno secretary-general Ahmad Maslan said party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had dropped Tajuddin from the council.
