Najib's conviction - Puad Zarkashi rails against Muhyiddin

Malaysiakini:

Muhyiddin 'smiles the widest' at Najib's SRC verdict, claims Puad

Malaysiakini

Umno supreme council member Puad Zarkashi has posited that Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin is the biggest winner from Najib Abdul Razak’s guilty verdict in the RM42 million SRC International trial.

In a Facebook post today, Puad (photo, above) also accused the Bersatu president of harbouring double standards.

“The person who is smiling in satisfaction at Najib’s conviction today is Muhyiddin, not Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

“Muhyiddin must be berbangga (proud) because even though Najib signed a statutory declaration supporting him as the eighth PM, he can’t be bought with such support.

“Muhyiddin can now claim he is the most principled person,” he said.

“Najib has never asked for his case to be dropped. Najib will definitely know why this has happened to him.

“What is hidden here is vengeance,” Puad alleged.

Exactly five years ago today, Muhyiddin was dropped as deputy prime minister after the former publicly questioned then Umno president and PM Najib over the 1MDB financial scandal.

A year later, he was sacked from Umno.

Why is Azmin not charged?

In light of Najib’s conviction, he questioned why Bersatu Gombak MP Azmin Ali had not been charged for his alleged involvement in a sex scandal but made the senior minister for International Trade and Industry.

Azmin has denied involvement and describes the allegation as a plot to jeopardise his reputation.

Puad also questioned why Muhammad Zahid Mat Arip, who was implicated in corruption charges against former Felda chairperson Isa Samad, had not been charged but instead made a Bersatu senator.

This was while Umno president Zahid Hamidi was not made a minister despite possessing “qualifications” as a deputy PM, he said.

Zahid is presently on trial for 47 corruption charges.

“It appears that moral issues only apply to Umno leaders.

“They do not apply for leaders from other parties, especially Bersatu,” Puad remarked.

Malaysiakini has contacted Muhyiddin’s aide for comment.

  2. Jibby's conviction also justifies the platform that Harapan took during GE14, ie Jibby was head of a Kleptocratic government. We must all thank Toonsie for leading this "crusade...." to kick them all out.

Before KT claimed he was blur about 1MDB, hopefully now he will read up on it and learn...ha ha ha...

  3. Sentencing Guideline.....

Shoplift baby milk worth RM502.60 got jailed 3 days. That was after he kwai kwai pleaded guilty.

42 million....? I work that out to be 27,855 days, or 76 years.

  4. Typical mentality of those who still think Najib is either faultless or only guilty of a minor misdemeanor.

Otherwise it is stupid to equate a massive case of corruption and abuse of public funds to the case of two adults who carried out a consensual act in a private room.
No doubt Azmin's alleged sex scandal broke the law, but Najib's case and his are hardly comparable in terms of the severity of the wrong.
