FMT:
Where have all the brave men gone?
by Clement Stanley
There was a time before the 14th general election when many a brave person stepped forward with gusto and conviction to speak up for a New Malaysia.
These were the voices of hopes, dreams and promises of better days ahead if the opposition did the impossible and came to power. These voices were eagerly waited upon as they bred new life into what was thought to be a forgone conclusion. These voices united a nation, hitting the very nerve of all Malaysians who voted for change. In such orators and fighters lay our trust.
But where is Tony Pua? Where is Rafizi Ramli? Liew Chin Tong? Nurul Izzah? Teresa Kok? Yeoh Bee Yin? Kula Segaran, Tian Chua and a host of others who were then opposition leaders? They were supposed to be our guardians of democracy and the voice of conscience.

Not anymore. Despite being fully aware of the burning issues at hand that continue to taunt and provoke the people who voted them into government, these voices have disappeared into the wilderness. How else can you explain their reluctance to confront their political master on contentious issues like the controversy surrounding Dr Zakir Naik or the recent dignity congress?
There was once a time when these voices would come out with guns blazing to reprimand those in power.
But now, like obedient little children at bedtime, they are content to listen to bedtime stories with a happy ending.
Today, these people on whom we once pinned our hopes have become mute, a pale shadow of their former selves, toeing the line rather than resisting it.

Today, they prefer to play the role of the three monkeys who see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil. It is simply easier that way.
Perhaps if Peter, Paul and Mary had to sing their hit song “Where have all the flowers gone”, they could be tempted to add one more line:
Where have all the brave men gone? Gone to blazers, every one.
When will they ever learn? When will they ever learn?
Where have all the brave men gone? Gone to blazers, every one.
When will they ever learn? When will they ever learn?
Both Tony Pua and Rafizi have been sidelined due to DAP and PKR internal politics.
ReplyDeletewhat sidelined for TP? He is an advisor to the Finance Minister.
DeleteBut that is not the point - which is that they used to make so much noise at every turn when in opposition, but now their party is in govt, they become dumb
Wakakakaka…
DeleteDumb?
How about TP is too busy to look for way to patch up the economy & national coffer?
Just as u write, there goes another RM10.3 billion premium to ensure the financial health of Lembaga Tabung Haji (LTH) is restored as part of the rescue and restructuring plan of the pilgrimage fund!
Money that the country CAN'T afford & yet MUST fork out to satisfy the ego of the blur-sotongs!
Can anyone else come up with a magic wand to do better before they fart?
The most important point about baby 1-year old heroes like Ah Mok.
Deletethe point - which is that they now make so much noise at every turn ,like Monkey, when in opposition, but previously when the other party is in govt, they were Soo dumb.
saddest thing is Monsterball is so desperate he LIES.
DeleteI've been blogging since 2005 - Pakatan in rule since then?
Show me when you were holding Najib to accountability, for his many wrong doings....you spent all the time being silent or attacking Najib's critics.
Deleteyou want to know? go through my posts, wakakaka
DeleteWhy must always be TP to speak up. You got some issue with him?
ReplyDeleteDAP is not a one-trick Tony....ha ha ha...now got Ronnie Liew to carry the baton.....
TP's job when in the opposition was to criticise and condemn the BN government until they were kicked out. He was successful as mission accomplished. He is now in the government doing more important job behind the scene. Criticising and condemning jobs can be left to KT except that he's always barking up the wrong tree all because of some old grievances. Wakakaka......
