N Sembilan govt gazetting change of ruler, says MB

The Negeri Sembilan state government is moving to gazette the proclamation that Tuanku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Ja’afar is the new Yang di-Pertuan Besar, replacing Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir.

This is according to Menteri Besar Ismail Lasim, who this morning confirmed that the state administration will accept an April 19 proclamation by the Negeri Sembilan territorial chieftains to remove Tuanku Muhriz.

"Today I wish to confirm that the proclamation was indeed discussed and unanimously decided by all state executive council members during our meeting on Sept 15.

"The state executive council has instructed the state secretary to proceed with gazetting (the proclamation) according to existing procedures," he said.

It won't be gazetted because it didn't comply with the State Constitution. Even if it is gazetted, it will be challenged in court later. The court may declare the proclamation null and void. The exco itself is invalid in its appointment, together with MB. The state is going to gazette an invalid proclamation. A joke indeed!

State exco/govt cannot gazette anything touching on royalty issues which is not under their jurisdiction. They can say and do whatever they like but it is invalid.
