Make way for new leaders, Kit Siang and Guan Eng told
DAP central executive committee member Teng Chang Khim has publicly urged the party supremo leader Lim Kit Siang and secretary-general Lim Guan Eng to make way for new leaders.
During an interview with Nanyang Siang Pao, Teng claimed that the elder Lim has been leading the party since the 1960s and together they have had sufficient opportunity to play their roles since then.
"The DAP is now at its peak and already crossing the finishing line. For the next competition, it's time to let others take over the baton and make their sprint," he said.

He also stressed that the main problem of the Lim family is they are in the position for too long and took things for granted.
"If there is no restriction under the party constitution, we might not able to witness the change of leadership. Hence, it's good to have a restriction and leadership change, " he said.
Teng also reminded that although the secretary-general term is only limited to nine years, Guan Eng has been holding the position for more than 10 years due to party elections being repeatedly postponed to make way for the general election.
Kit Siang was secretary-general of the DAP from 1969 to 1999. Guan Eng has been secretary-general since 2004.
In a separate interview with China Press, Teng recognised that Kit Siang and Guan Eng have successfully led the party to its peak, but it's time to pass the baton to the young generation to complete the race.
"After becoming the government and finance minister, are you still aiming to be prime minister? I’m not sure about that, but with the current situation, I don’t think it would happen," he said.

Strange, when I look at the DAP website, what position does this "dictator" LKS hold?:
ReplyDeleteLife Advisor? No
National Chairman? No
Deputy Chairman? No
Vice Chairman? No
Secretary General? No
Deputy Secretary General? No
Parliamentary Leader? No
National Treasurer? No
National Organising Secretary? No
Chairman of any State DAP? No
Is this dictator even a Committee Member? No
In fact LKS holds the lowly position of:
"Central Policy and Strategic Planning Commission Chairman"
Ever heard of this title? No.
So LKS must be the most lowly "dictator" ever.
And as far as Guanee is concerned, he will be relinquishing his Secretary General position which he has been elected and re-elected to for the maximum of three terms as stipulated by the party constitution, at the next party elections which has now been postponed to next year, because of Covid.
So what is Teng talking about?
Teng has burnt his bridges.
ReplyDeleteJoining MCA soon ?
Maybe become Bersatu associate member ? Wakakaka
If I am not mistaken , Lim Kit Siang has no office position in DAP.
ReplyDeleteSO, How do you call him a dictator ?
His influence in DAP, whatever it is, is "Personal to Holder". That you cannot take away from him..
Lim Guan Eng is in his last permissible term as Sec Gen. Let him serve it out.
It would be improper for Teng to demand he step down prematurely, short of some serious wrongdoing.
All in All, I think Teng overstepped the boundary. Using Nanyang , no less, a "BN friendly" MSM.
He ought to be disciplined, wakakaka...
cucu manyak kan, bagi cucu chance la, masih dad n son what.
