Those in Najib's pocket

Why in the world would Najib select two non-UMNO members to contest in Shah Alam and Pasir Mas?

Okay, let me ask that again: Why in the world would Najib select a non-UMNO member to contest in Shah Alam?

We know Ibrahim Ali has been specifically sponsored by Dr Mahathir, and now the UMNO man who didn't fail his application papers in Pasir Mas on nomination day, Che Johan, has been hailed by UMNO there as a hero for allowing the Perkasa Chief to contest shows that UMNO members have been in the know.

Ibrahim Ali is just an opportunist and not so much the real racist as some have come to see him. Mate, if the circumstances require, he'll be jolly-kaki-ing with you through the night, wakakaka. He is nothing more than a paid mercenary, an opportunistic politician who is, to use a Penang term, chnea kay oowa kay, or in loose translation, mindful of which side of the bread is buttered.

Yes, he is annoying but not quite the real danger to social harmony as the other one.

Zulkifli Noordin is different. When he insulted Hinduism I believe he meant it, every word of it, as in every inch of Lord Ganesh trunk and every drop of water in the Ganges.

Ganges River

Has his candidature been Najib's card to the heartland to show he (Najib & UMNO) is staunchly Islamic, a foil to PAS religiosity?

In their support of BN with one of its candidates an insulter of Hinduism, I wonder whether Waythamoorthy and his so-called advisor N Ganesan are really Hindus (in the religious sense)?

In Malaysiakini, a bloke by the pen name of Tamil Mani wrote in a letter titled Waytha, choosing between Ravana and Rama matters.

This was in response to Waythamoorthy's arrogant dismissal of critics who reminded him of the evil oppression of Indians by UMNO for the last 40 years or so. Waythamoorthy had defended his signing of the MoU with UMNO by arguing that that it was inconsequential whether Ravana or Rama ruled the country.

Guess who would be Ravana?

Rama and Ravana to Hindus is as Christ and Satan to Christians and Allah swt and Syaitan ΚΎIblΔ«s to Muslims.

Tamil Mani said: The last few days have been really very sad times for Malaysian Hindus, and especially those who belong to or associate with Hindraf.

I am not referring to the purported betrayal of Indian Malaysians by P Waythamoorthy, the leader of Hindraf, for signing a MOU with BN, nor his willingness to work with BN, nor his subsequent call to Indian Malaysians to return BN to power with a two-thirds majority.

There are enough letters and comments from the cyber-world and right-thinking Malaysians to condemn his latest decision in his avowed bid to uplift the Indian community.

Specifically, I am referring to Waythamoorthy's defense of the MOU wherein he had said it is inconsequential whether Ravana or Rama rules the country.

This is what has me - and, I believe, many other Hindus - really peeved with Waythamoorthy.

In effect, what Waythamoorthy meant was this: "I don't care who - bad or good - rules the country for as long as I get what I want."

So, perhaps Najib knew all along he has the Indians like Waythamoorthy's mob and MIC in his pocket when he daringly nominated the insulter of Hinduism, Zulkifli Noordin, to stand in Shah Alam.

And right on cue, MIC's N Devendren kissed Zulkifli on his cheek on nomination day. I also recall MIC's Kamalanathan hugging Ibrahim Ali in Hulu Selangor, wakakaka.

It would appear Najib certainly knew what he was doing.

Tamil Mani gave a severe jab to Waythamoorthy's Hindu credential when he further wrote:

Now, for Waythamoorthy, to unfavourably cite the Lord's name in a mundane manner and context is the biggest travesty!

For sure, because of his unexpected and shocking U-turn, Waythamoorthy had to defend his decision against many critics, especially those who are also well aware of the plight and status of Indian Malaysians and have been working towards a practical solution.

For sure, he has a right to embrace any party whom he deems will be able to fulfill his goals of uplifting the Indian community, even if it means working with the devil.

But, to drag the name of the Lord in spurious circumstances is unforgivable!

Waythamoorthy undertook a "severe" fast recently, hoping to move the care-taker PM Najib or the PM-in-waiting Anwar to his cause.

Subsequently, he conveniently abandoned the fast when his unrealistic demands were not met by either party.

Then, when his hopelessly scaled-down blueprint was endorsed by Najib, he demeaned the Lord by dragging His name in a thoughtless manner.

With scant regard for the Lord, why then fast in the confines of a temple? Was this merely a big show of piety?

Om!

New career move?

Read also Malaysiakini's Is love still in the air? by my Penang laang, Neil Khor (extracts follows):

When a political party has to resort to karaoke to get its message across, you know that it is in trouble. The MCA Bukit Bintang team’s performance has now gone viral but not in a good way. They wanted to sing their way into the hearts and minds of voters. Unfortunately, the song they chose undermined the message they wanted to spread. [...]

... this rather poorly executed music video demonstrates a bankruptcy of ideas. Mimicking a music video does not make one popular; translating one’s conviction through a new song is what convinces people. We don’t need a bad rendition of someone else’s song, we need BN to come up with its own song.

Compare this poor rendition to the Ubah music video. No one is expecting our future leaders to sing fantastically. GE13 is not American Idol. What we need from the candidates is that they sing their own composition and sing it with conviction.

Pakatan Rakyat’s cross-generational and multi-ethnic performance encapsulates their core message. If we want change that is meaningful, we need the cooperation of all Malaysians. We may not sing it like professionals but it is our own song, our own anthem.

No such coherence in the BN. The BN close connection with Perkasa strikes a discordant note. Apparently, there is so much love for Zulfklifi Noordin in Shah Alam by Indian voters that Najib Abdul Razak had to publicly say that Zulfklifi is a champion of the Indians.

I am not sure how someone who denigrates the Chinese and Indians as “illegal immigrants” and who think the Ganges River is not holy but dirty can so convincingly turn a new leaf. But miracles do happen and lets see how Shah Alam votes come 5 May. [...]

In the case of the non-Malays, so long as BN can keep the company of Perkasa, it has no business getting our votes. We can always vote with our feet like the members of MIC Shah Alam who quit the BN coalition.

Strange happenings (2)

Continuing from Strange happenings (1) ........

In my previous post I mentioned that last week we noticed strange things happening, such as the virtual disappearance from the political scene all mentions of Altantuyaa Shariibuu, and the remarkable but lamentable 'return to BN' by Waythamoorthy, self proclaimed leader of Hindraf, an organization formed to protest against BN's marginalization and brutal treatments of Indians in particular the unexplained deaths of Indians in police custody.

An important note to remember is that Waythamoorthy was NOT part of the 5 Hindraf leaders who were incarcerated by the UMNO-led government under the Internal Security Act (ISA), namely, V Ganabatirao, M Manoharan , K Vasantha Kumar, R Kenghadharan and P Uthayakumar. While they languished under draconian detention, he was safely ensconced in Mother England.

“Waythamoorthy wants the Indians to give BN a two-third parliamentary majority. But there is not even a squeak from this newly recruited ‘Umno mandore’ when Zulkifli [Noordin] was named as the candidate [for Shah Alam]. Waythamoorthy has smeared the name of Hindraf and all our sacrifices have been in vain.”

- S Sanjay (former Penang Hindraf deputy chairman)

But he has now completed his triumphant return without any harassment by the authority to claim ownership-leadership of Hindraf, undertook a "fast" purportedly to raise notice of Hindraf's grievance and its demand published as a so-called blueprint, rejected DAP's adoption of 11 of his blueprint points as plagiarism (whatever that meant?), travelled to Putrajaya to attend a meeting with UMNO despite being more than two weeks into his fasting, returned to the temple to collapse from his fast a few days later, and then signed a MoU with UMNO which has only 4 points from his blueprint (in contrast to DAP's 11 points) and then exhorted Indians to return UMNO-BN to victory in GE-13 with a TWO-THIRDS majority

'Twas certainly a busy period for him and his adviser N Ganesan.

Remarkably, the so-called MoU which he effusively enthused as 'unimaginable' (well done, Aneh Nambikei, wakakaka) does not question nor raise queries about Indian deaths in police custody. What can we say about the Hindraf under Waythamoorthy?

In this post we leave him and his mob to enjoy their new established friendship with UMNO as he campaigns strongly for a BN victory with a two-thirds majority (presumably a new important point in his so-called Hindraf blueprint).

In this second post on 'strange happenings' which occurred just last week, we observed the hitherto believed-impossible, the development of a nascent cooperative entente cordiale between PAS and DAP.

The entente cordiale came about from a combination of mutual interests (for Pakatan Rakyat to win GE-13), hutang budi by DAP for PAS willingness to allow the eventuality and necessity of DAP using its Bulan Purnama as the party symbol for DAP candidates (thanks to RoS initial implied threat in rendering the new DAP CEC not legal) and of course PAS staff working late into the night to prepare the letters of authority allowing DAP candidates to use PAS logo.

Though the option was finally not required, no doubt to the immense disappointment of pro BN bloggers and reporters who claimed in their bizarre conspiracy theory that DAP exploited the situation as a deliberate ruse to use PAS logo to gain Muslim support, ...

... DAP supporters will not forget PAS' cooperative willingness to tide DAP over an unpleasant and very crucial period with their loan of PAS party logo.

Thanks also to PKR for similar actions for DAP in Sarawak and Sabah, though the price to pay was surrendering Miri and a state seat to PKR.

PAS has also benefited from the cooperation, demonstrating to the Malaysian voters it shares with DAP a common political goal and a common political ideology (at least on one point) of anti corruption.

By its association with DAP, it resets non-Muslim attitude towards its political ideology and existence. Pak Haji Nik Aziz, its spiritual leader, stated to his personal (and party) delight that the day has finally arrived when the Chinese and Indian Malaysians no longer fear Islam and an Islamic party.

But this is only a start, for there are still many policies and details to work out to consolidate and enhance the entente cordiale.

Okay wakakaka, we must not forget the input of Anwar Ibrahim in bridging the humongous gap between two diametrically opposing ideologies, that of Islamic PAS and secular socialist-democratic DAP. The gap has now narrowed considerably to be almost invisible ..... but as I said, there's more work to be done.

Nonetheless, the exhilarating exuberant ebullience of the kaam cheng between PAS and DAP, apart from fulfilling Subky Abul Latif and thousands of PAS members' wet dreams and giving many of us orgasmic goose pimples, must surely merit a mention in this post on Strange Happenings.

Next, I wonder why BN still throws mucho money into its campaign for Penang, giving the impression they haven't learn anything since Gerakan's debacle in its Psy concert and the mismanaged yee-sang which turned out to be Korean-free, wakakaka.

where's that Korean?

Gerakan should have by now realized Penangites can't be bribed. Penangites are the very people who invented the political strategy of 'sending DAP to Parliament to make noise while keeping BN in state for domestic development'.

But even this strategy was abandoned in 1969 and indeed, again in 2008. Now, that they could see a state government that's clean, accountable and transparent, why would they change the status quo!

Yes BN, why throw good money after bad ones? Could it be that both were not worth keeping?

Thus this silly Gerakan-BN action proves BN hasn't changed in its belief it could continue to buy the voters' hearts with the '600 Janome' approach which we witnessed in the 2007 Ijok by-elections. Maybe BN expects Penangites to show gratitude? wakakaka.

wakakaka

But throwing good money after bad ones in a totally lost cause, I dare say, merits a mention in Strange Happenings.

Finally, Najib, for a man who wants to win with a huge majority, fails to nominate the best candidate for the federal seat of Pandan while selecting the worst candidate for Shah Alam. Pakatan should thank him for two federal seats.

Once bitten, twice shy

Indeed, a week of Strange Political Happenings!

Strange happenings (1)

Last week strange things happened, though one could argue that a few, though predictable, were still considered strange or, a better word, bizarre.

Firstly, there seems to be a toning down of the Altantuyaa case to a level now almost inaudible.

As I had lamented in my other blog Ktemoc Komposes about the repetitive 'murder' of slain Mongolian, Altantuyaa Shabiibuu, for political benefits, though mind you, a few were sincere but in general the rest were for exploitative political gains.

PKR mourners for Altantuyaa prior to a by-election
would they be mourning for a neighbour down the street?

In my amateurish wannabe-poem Murdering Altantuyaa Shaariibuu Again I wrote as if in the shoes of the late Altantuyaa, an Altantuyaa who would have been highly cynical of many who claimed to moan for her (extracts only):

But the loudest noises are they calling for ‘justice’
Though, I smile cynically, ‘twas not meant for me
Their shrill proclamations & belated outrage (sigh)
Startled even great Gujir Tngri and the 77 siqar

Grandstanding acrobatics, their excuse to dispense
With all norms, purportedly all for me (wry smile)
I must confess I view with scepticism and distaste
As I would professional chest-pounding mourners

Gnashing Colgate mint-flavoured peroxide-d teeth
Wretchedly wringing manicured Ulan oiled hands
Shedding date-expired plastic bags of lo-salt tears
Proclaiming to be 11th hour paragons of ‘justice’

Even Ataya Tngri rolled his ancient eyes upwards
While Emegelji Eji cackled with caustic laughter
The ancient pair could see abacus shaped hearts
Clicking furiously and shaming Casio calculators

By sheer speed of their computation of advantage
What to extract, exploit, extricate from my name
Squeezing the very last speck of desiccated blood
From my hyper cold shattered fragments of bones

Eager hands raided the ossuary for me to be laid
As stepping stones for the progress of a demigod

'murdered' not once but several times over
by various Malaysians

Maybe those 'abacus shaped hearts ... clicking furiously and shaming Casio calculators' have assessed that now there are enough of other issues to do away with 'extracting and squeezing the very last speck of desiccated blood from Altantuyaa's hyper cold shattered fragments of bones'.

Secondly, one that was predictable but yet bizarre has been the so-called MoU between Waythamoorty and Najib.

For a shocking start, Waytha forgo the issue of Indian deaths in police custody when this topic has been one of the three important grievances that brought out (the original) Hindraf on 25 November 2007 - see another of my wannabe-poem 25 November 2007.

Remembering Francis Udayappan
whose death in police custody has not been satisfactorily explained
but alas, in photo only his mum but no PKR mourner

maybe Waythamoorthy & N Ganesan will take it up? the mourning I mean, not the issue as the MoU with UMNO doesn't include this

In a previous post The Tragedy of Hindraf I wrote: This leads us uncomfortably to the suspicion that the DAP has been an unwanted suitor, when Hindraf probably desires someone else. I hope I am wrong but when I read in Malaysiakini’s Tough issues in store for second PM-Hindraf meet I see a totally different Hindraf reaction to its meeting with Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak. Dare I say it has been coquettishly coy complete with fluttering eyelashes?

Sadly I was proven correct when Hindraf's adviser N Ganesan sneered at DAP for adopting 11 of Hindraf's points in its so-called blueprint as an act of plagiarism, where the accusation of plagiarism was so outlandishly ridiculous because Hindraf issued its blueprint with a demand that Pakatan or BN picked it up.

As I had written in a piece which Malaysiakini published as a 'Comment' article Plagiarism cries, and the tragedy of Hindraf instead as just a reader's letter:

Plagiarism is an academic abomination, a commercial crime in some intellectual rights cases, and an indictment of policy bankruptcy and incompetency in politics if, say, Party A were to steal policy ideas from Party B.

Waythamoorthy, hope you know what 'pembelot' means
If you don't, read the story of Mir Jafar, another Indian pembelot

But Hindraf is neither Party A nor Party B in the current scheme of things. Hindraf drew up its blueprint not as an academic or commercial item, but to demand that either side of Malaysian politics adopt same if they wish to have Hindraf’s support in the coming general election.

Thus, we would have expected the organisation to be happy with the DAP for adopting most of its blueprint. But bizarrely, it has now accused DAP of plagiarism of its policy when in the first place it had wanted political acceptance of it.

It appears Hindraf is either confused over what it wants or it has been the wrong side of politics which has adopted its blueprint, hence its chagrin and rather absurd accusation of plagiarism against DAP.

No, Hindraf wasn't confused.

DAP's Gelang Patah Declaration embracing 11 of Hindraf's blueprint points was those of an unwanted suitor.

Waythamoorthy and his adviser N Ganesan wanted and was waiting for Mapillai Najib to pick it up. And Najib did, but on only 4 of those points which pointedly omitted the issue of Indian deaths in police custody.

Mapillai Najib a.k.a Aneh Nambikei

Yet Waythamoorthy and Ganesan would rather have a lesser and more diluted BN MoU than DAP's Gelang Patah Declaration.

As S Thayaparan, who has been noted to be fairly disdainful of and acerbic with DAP and the party's policies, wrote in his Malaysiakini article Burying the hatchet BN uses to hack Indian community:

So not only did Hindraf sign a practically useless (because it is not only not legally binding but also made by parties unknown) memorandum of understanding with an alliance they claim are the perpetrators of all the injustices the Indian community faced all these decades and continue to face, this so-called memorandum does not even include elements from their own blueprint that would benefit not only the Indian community but all Malaysians.

The Gelang Patah declaration, which was a rip-off
* from the Hindraf blueprint, had more teeth in it than this useless document. Therefore, the question is, why did Hindraf even bother to be a party to it.

* the term 'rip-off' is hardly appropriate because the aim of Hindraf's blueprint was for it to be adopted, hence it would be ludicrously absurd to say it was plagiarized or ripped-off, but as I remarked, S Thayaparan has been noted to be disdainful of and acerbic with DAP and its policies.

I believe we may safely assume why Waythamoorthy and his adviser N Ganesan prefer to be in the UMNO bed with Najib.

Hindraf's new lover boy

Kugan died in police custody
now abandoned and forgotten by Hindraf?

You know, one could argue for them that they assessed the reality of the political situation and chose BN as the better suitor despite it being responsible for the woes of Indians directly or indirectly, including Indian deaths in police custody for the past 40 plus years, because the UMNO-led government is likely to be (again) the next government.

But what took our breath away was what Waythamoorthy did next, something that was beyond the agenda of Hindraf.

Waythamoorthy called on Indians to return to BN to ensure the coalition wins with a two-thirds majority!!!!

poster from Zorro unmasked

S Thayaparan's MKINI article seems to be appropriately titled
'Burying the hatchet BN uses to hack Indian community'

Why? Was that necessary for Hindraf's interests?

By that call, Waythamoorthy went from being a Hindraf negotiator to being an UMNO campaign supporter. Thus it would not be wrong for us to assume Waythamoorthy and N Ganesan will campaign for UMNO's Zulkifli Noordin, Ibrahim Ali and Hishamuddin Hussein, three politicians who have been particularly nasty or unsympathetic to the rights of Hindus, to ensure BN wins with a 2/3 majority.

Waytha and Ganesan, you guys are supporting a bloke who insulted me?

And it's not as if Waythamoorthy doesn't know what sort of people BN has. He stated quite unabashedly that it doesn't matter whether Rama or Ravana rules the country, a very direct expression of his knowledge that BN is evil but he doesn't care. Ambiga Sreenevasan was furious by Waythamoorthy's arrogant acceptance of evil to justify his personal political preference.

Before we leave Waythamoorthy and his bed mate UMNO, let's reflect on what S Thayaparan, who was until Waytha's bizarre action highly sympathetic with Hindraf, said in his final paragraph:

“According to the agreement, should BN retain federal power, it would set up a new unit under the Prime Minister's Office to implement the details of the MOU.”

"Let me guess, this unit would be a kennel next to the PM’s Office, right? All I can say is, to whichever Hindraf lackey appointed to this unit, remember when you are walking down the corridors of Putrajaya, when you meet an Ibrahim Ali or a Zulkifi Noordin, keep your eyes to the floor and never bite the hand that feeds you."

"Always remember your place. You earned it."

there's something in the waters of Jelapang

OK, I can understand why Semenyh, but Jelapang ...?

In the last election PSM lost its deposit in a 3-corner fight with MCA and DAP, yes, lost its deposit!

Hmmm, maybe there's something in the waters of Jelapang worth losing the deposit? wakakaka

Malaysiakini - ROS responds, no objection to DAP logo use

Hmmm, maybe there's people power after all - the sort of people's power that UMNO is shit scared of, namely VOTES! wakakaka

[phone call: "Yes Datuk, all kowtim. I understand. No point in making PAS and DAP more popular than beyond their respective usual constituency."]

RoS makes PAS' dreams come true?

UMNO so fears DAP that it has, as anticipated, resorted to using RoS to de-legitimize DAP CEC, the authority for issuing letters of authority for its candidates to show the EC.

Ceterum censeo DAP delendam esse
[Furthermore, I consider that DAP must be destroyed]

with apologies to Cato the Elder ((234-149 BC)

Lim GE has rightly refused to believe EC Chairperson's verbal and indirect (via the press) assurance that DAP candidates could use the party's logo.

One shouldn't be surprised if on the day (20 April 2013) when DAP candidates submit their election applications,  the EC will turn around and say their application papers won't be accepted because of an illegally issued letter of authority to use the DAP party logo.

Now, wouldn't that be just dandy for BN which will automatically win 'unopposed' in around 150 to 160 parliamentary and state seats.

Unless the DAP receives a written letter from the EC that it will accept DAP issued letters of authority for the party's candidates to use the party logo, Subky Abdul Latif's wet dreams will come true.

Subky in his column in TMI titled Bilakah DAP akan diharamkan on 02 April 2013 anticipated the need for DAP to resort to the PAS logo because of RoS inevitable sabotaging action. He wrote:

Sebagaimana semua menunggu bila Parlimen hendak dibubarkan, maka semuanya menunggu bila pula DAP hendak diharamkan?

As Subky said, we all knew then and were only waiting for RoS' predictable action.

A man I once respected and adored was made the UMNO-MCA vanguard to incite action against DAP. 'Nuff said for this man broke my heart.

Continuing Subky's article:

DAP and PAS prepare in collaboration in anticipation of UMNO's underhanded tactic, for DAP candidates to stand as PAS candidates.

It'll of course endowed PAS with the strategic benefit of non-Muslim voters getting used to and not fearing the Moon. OTOH, MCA may benefit from pointing fingers and saying "We told you so, that DAP have sold us Chinese down the Tigris-Euphrates rivers."

Soalnya sekarang bila RoS hendak mengharamkan DAP? Jika RoS sebuah agensi yang tegas dalam serba serbi, maka ia mesti haramkan DAP dengan segera sekurang-kurangnya sebelum hari penamaan calon.

But of course that was too much to expect, an UMNO owned RoS giving DAP adequate time to respond to an already decided non-recognition of the DAP party's CEC and the consequential and questionable legality of  DAP CEC issuing the required letters of authority to DAP candidates to use the DAP party logo. The aim of RoS as an apparatus of UMNO has been to disrupt DAP's election process, and thus it does so by giving DAP only 2 days notice.

PAS sekarang dipercayai menunggu. Ia tidak mendoakan supaya DAP diharamkan, tetapi kalau diharamkan, maka ia satu cabaran yang menarik bagi menguji kematangan politik Pakatan Rakyat dalam suasana baru politik Malaysia sekarang.

As I said, apart from collaborating with DAP and PKR to win the elections and form the next Malaysian government  there will be strategic benefit for PAS, because non-Muslim voters in voting for DAP under the PAS banner, will get use to and not fear the Moon symbol.

So on so forth ... as discussed above, there'll be mutual benefits in this collaboration.

Mereka sama-sama berani.

And not only did Lim KS's explosive announcement, for DAP candidates to resort to the PAS banner if RoS plays f**k, shake and fluster UMNO and MCA, it sent waves of orgasms wakakaka among PAS supporters like Subky Abdul Latif ... for he then concluded:

Wakakaka for Bhai!

Won't that be orgasmic for PAS supporters? wakakaka

Gelang Patah?

Holey moley!

The  credit goes to UMNO's RoS

Pak Haji Nik Aziz: “Be confident that this historic decision will be remembered throughout the ages. This is the moment when the
rocket lands on the moon”

As a German might have said: Ve hav ze dream unz ze dream hav komm zrue (wakakaka)
