Official: Rafizi PKR deputy president, women's chief results overturned

The results of the PKR top leadership elections are out, following a clean-up of votes based on the findings of a forensic audit.

The outcome is mostly the same, with Rafizi Ramli officially winning the deputy presidency.

However, one change was the winner of the PKR women's chief race.

Unofficial results initially placed Rafizi's ally, Rodziah Ismail, as the winner.

However, this has since been overturned with Senator Fadhlina Sidek officially winning the race by a narrow margin of 32 votes.

In a statement, PKR party election committee director Zaliha Mustafa acknowledged that a forensic audit had discovered attempts to tamper with the results by "irresponsible parties".

However, she said the audit firm had suggested that the results be cleaned up - which the committee carried out in accordance with the digital analysis' findings.

"However (the clean-up) did not affect the results for a majority of candidates, be it at the central or division levels," she said.

The final official count has Rafizi winning the number two race with a 16,668 vote majority over rival Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

The official results also confirmed that the four elected vice-presidents, in chronological order, are Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari, Tanjong Malim MP Chang Lih Kang, Setiawangsa MP Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, and Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun.

Chang, Nik Nazmi, and Aminuddin are aligned to Rafizi.
