PAS is a double-headed snake, with Hadi saying one thing about UMNO whilst Tuan Ibrahim another

Hadi says a vote for BN is a vote for misconduct, corruption

PETALING JAYA: PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang has urged Johor voters to put an end to misconduct, malpractice and corruption by not voting for Umno in the state elections next week.

He said that Barisan Nasional and Umno, after being in power for 60 years, were suffering from numerous failings and weaknesses.

“The parties are old and weak and with that comes many failings, corruption, misconduct and malpractice.

“We hope the people of Johor will vote for Perikatan Nasional instead, and elect a representative who does not simply make promises but does the work,” he said, according to party newspaper Harakahdaily.

Yesterday, PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said Muafakat Nasional, the party’s pact with Umno, would be re-evaluated after the Johor elections on March 12.

He claimed that until now, leaders from neither PAS nor Umno had declared an end to their cooperation.

However, Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi later appeared to give a clear indication of MN’s future when he said the pact should be “filed away and not be reopened”.

“It’s not that we don’t want to (cooperate with PAS) because Umno started the alliance,” Bernama reported him as saying. “Why take the trouble when people don’t appreciate you?”

With Johor going to the polls in a week’s time, BN’s clash against PN and Pakatan Harapan is in the spotlight.

PAS is a component party of PN and Bersatu’s main ally.
