'Innocent until proven guilty' my foot

FMT:

Photo (above) was said to be taken at one of the magistrate courts in Penang.

What annoys me are the orange lockup uniforms worn by the people being charged, which in effect preemptively implied the guilt of those people.

I thought one of the basic principles of our law is that a person is deemed 'innocent until proven guilty' though I know many Malaysians don't give any respect for that axiom, wakakaka.

In Oct 2018 I read then-PM Mahathir saying that Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who faces a multitude of charges, must show proof that he has not done anything wrong.

Such was the new fCk-up Malaysian law under the old dragon, who had then said:

“Show proof if he did not do anything wrong, if the 45 charges are made up. If he shows that he did not steal any money and that people were the ones that gave him the money, then show proof and the documents."

“Only then can they accuse us of indicting them because it is politically motivated,” the Prime Minister said during the Bicara Minda Sinar Harian forum

Why and since when have our police, MACC and court adopted this disgusting piece of Americanism that preemptively labels the wearer with guilt?

And regretfully, there appears to be two sets of law on this issue, the wearing of a police-provided orange uniform for people charged with a crime but yet to be convicted.

Why aren't so-called Malaysian VVIPs with legal charges against them (but yet to be convicted of the crimes) made to wear such guilt-laden suits, people like Najib Razak, Ahmad Zahidi, Lim Guan Eng, Tengku Adnan, Paul Yong, etc?

Lawyer N. Surendran (is he still in PKR?) said that until someone is convicted of any crime, they should not be forced to wear uniforms of any colour, saying:

“This practise of making people wear these uniforms breaches the presumption of innocence.”

And therefore I believe that if such orange uniforms are to be worn, then the person accused by our dear Saudara Lim KS of the following horrendous crimes should be made to wear the uniform as well, because Sdr Lim KS has always been right, wakakaka.

Coincidentally in early November 2017, FMT published the following:

FMT - Mahathir: Many are eager to see me in lockup attire.

love to see Mahathir in orange

goes well with his horses and/or cars

😂😂😂

PETALING JAYA: Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has claimed that many people would be happy to see him dressed in the orange-coloured lockup uniform, often worn by those arrested for alleged graft in the country.

“This is where it looks like it’s headed. If the police conduct an investigation, I might have to wear that orange attire and then many people will be satisfied,” the PPBM chairman said in a video released by the party today.

The 92-year-old was referring to allegation ... [...]

  1. Everybody knows who Guanee is and what he looks like, he's too handsome ha ha ha. He can't simply run away and hide.

But when you have a large group of people brought to court and allow them to dress casualty what if they all run off helter skelter, melt into the crowd and escape? Then we would be having a different discussion now.

Handcuff or chain them together to prevent mass escape? Well, same argument, why handcuff if innocent until proven guilty?

    1. in other words, the principle has now changed from "guilty until proven innocent" as Mahathir demanded from Ahmad Zahidi, wakakaka

Mahathir said: “Show proof if he did not do anything wrong, if the 45 charges are made up. If he shows that he did not steal any money and that people were the ones that gave him the money, then show proof and the documents."

“Only then can they accuse us of indicting them because it is politically motivated,”

Wakakaka, what an evil lawless dictator

Sing's justice system is like Malaysia's, based on British model and its principle of "Innocent until proven guilty", but tell me, has Sing trialled and found Najib guiltyy?
