NG CHI SERN, a Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC) A Level student, recently clinched two top awards in the November 2019 Cambridge International A-Level examination.

He not only scored an outstanding 4 As for his A-Level, but he also won the highly-coveted Best Across Three Cambridge International-A Levels award (1st Place in Malaysia) and Top in the World award for A-Level Further Mathematics in the recent Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards.

Ng who hails from SMJK Keat Hwa, Alor Star, waxed lyrical about his lecturers at TAR UC.

Keat Hwa, Alor Star

“Studying at TAR UC was undoubtedly one of the main reasons why I managed to win these awards. We were often encouraged to be proactive when we faced any difficulties in our studies. Whenever we sought help from lecturers, they were very willing to help us out.

“They would even try to answer as many questions as possible through Google Classroom and Facebook. I am truly glad to have these dedicated lecturers throughout my A Level studies.”

TAR UC president Prof Dr Lee Sze Wei said: “I am very proud of Chi Sern’s achievement, and I hope that many more will follow in his footsteps. The Cambridge GCE A Level programme at TAR UC has paved the way for many to study in top universities all over the world.

“It provides students with a strong academic grounding and prepares them well for a successful progression into tertiary studies.”

Lee added: “We provide a conducive environment that goes beyond education for our A Level students to succeed.”

Apart from Chi Sern, two other students from TAR UC also won awards in the AS Level categories. They are Yap Wei Xiang who won the High Achievement in English General Paper award, and Teoh Jiun Ern who obtained the Top in the World Mathematics award.

  1. Congratulations to the students and TARUC. See what they can achieve after only 60 days of MCA (the owners and managers of TARUC) back in power, after kicking out DAP.

No need for Guanee, Teo Nie Ching etc, they only play politics with education. Keep TARUC free of politics. See, no MCA politicians at the presentation event. Mesti Duduk Rumah lah.

But now after in power for 2 months, has Wee KHAT Siong/Mah Hang Soon, the PRESIDENT and DEPUTY PRESIDENT of MCA, the owners and managers of TARUC made a phone call to Tengku Zafrul to re-instate the matching grant? It only costs the Treasury 20 million ringgit a year, what is that compared to the 250 billion just approved for Covid-19?

Guanee already approved 40 million late last year for TARUC Alumni to distribute to needy students. So now TARUC fat-tat lah...! No need to pass the Milo tins to poor hawkers to support TARUC. Why KT don't put up the photo of that poor hawker again?

One phone call to FM, that's all, no need for parliament approval. Or is Wee KHAT Siong a Jellyfish Minister? Lost his spine 2 months ago? Ha ha ha...here is a sample of what he crowed like a cockrel just before the coup de etat...

Wee vows to defend TAR UC, challenges Guan Eng to debate
    Robin Augustin -December 1, 2019

KUALA LUMPUR: MCA president Wee Ka Siong has challenged Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng to debate him on the funding for the Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC).

In his opening speech at MCA’s annual general meeting (AGM) at the party’s headquarters here today, Wee slammed Lim for withholding the government’s matching grant for TAR UC.

“As long as I am president I will be here to protect TAR UC. All MCA members and the Chinese community will safeguard this institution,” he declared.

“Stay out of TAR UC,” he said.

    By FOONG PEK YEE

KUALA LUMPUR: Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng has been told to stop the political persecution of Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC).

MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong in making the call...

..."An officer from the Finance Ministry has on Nov 26, suddenly presented a letter at the TARC Board of Governors meeting stating that the board is illegal because the trustees are all MCA members.....

...."I want to tell Lim Guan Eng, that's enough, we had enough! Stop suppressing TAR UC, and stop the political persecution.

"TAR UC was founded by us (MCA), This higher education institution that we and the Chinese society support together...." said Dr Wee in his hour-long and emotionally charged speech when opening the party's 66th annual general meeting (AGM) here on Sunday (Dec 1).
